So the battery say a + 12.7 VDC one as seen from 4D perspective within a resonance tank fed by a diode bridge has got a value of -12.7 or J 12.7 that substracts as jX from the resonant tank that sees it as LOADING R (- resistance ) contrary to its impedance Z .... so it results in a phasor loading to the source increasing power factor and power usage into the useless dimension ( wasted power).

see varactor diode tuning principles as they apply perfectly mentioned a million times in my old postings !

Hi Hector,

As varactor diodes have capacitance in the pF range what about using ceramic capacitors. Some classes may drop 80% in capacitance when changing from low voltage to max voltage. I know someone that watched a demonstration of a self-runner at a free energy congress using ceramic capacitors in an oscillator circuit.

Varactor diode: http://www.physics-and-radio-electronics.com/electronic-devices-and-circuits/semiconductor-diodes/varactordiode-construction-definition-working.html http://www.physics-and-radio-electronics.com/electronic-devices-and-circuits/semiconductor-diodes/varactordiode-construction-definition-working.html

Varactor diode from the above link.

Ceramic capacitor: https://wiki2.org/en/Ceramic_capacitor#Voltage_dependence_of_capacitance https://wiki2.org/en/Ceramic_capacitor#Voltage_dependence_of_capacitance

The imaginary part j or square root of -1 means reactive power. This has to be changed to active power without having to take active power from the source. A parametric change in capacitance ought to do this job as a decrease in capacitance at constant charge means increase in energy.

The characteristics of varactor diodes and ceramic capacitors are both nonlinear but in different ways as seen in the above figures.

Regards
Ole

You mean

	E = Q^2 / (2C)

? I just re(did) the integration to see where this comes from. The above work had to be performed (energy spent) to get a specific Q into a cap. The above equation is valid for constant C during the charge phase only! Charging a cap to a given Q with decreasing C requires extra energy as can easily be seen in the following equation:

	W = Integral (q / C) dq

So we already had to do extra work to get the cap with the decreasing capacitance charged. Let’s assume we have some C charged to some Q now. How could the C further be decreased (after disconnecting the voltage supply)? The only way I see is by increasing the distance between the plates but this requires mechanical work!?

I don’t see the potential for FE in this. It may theoretically be possible if we could

• charge the cap at constant C
• then after disconnecting the power supply (constant Q) decrease the capacitance without having to apply mechanical work
• then discharge into a load

But these are many Ifs!? Where is the apparatus/concept that can do this. I see no potential at all! :-( Am I missing anything?

Thanks,

Andreas

Hi Andreas,

I found something here https://www.psiram.com/de/index.php/Gustav_Hans_Weber https://www.psiram.com/de/index.php/Gustav_Hans_Weber
It's in German and isn't the schematic I once saw. But it's the same person.

I found the schematic that I got of the self-runner and it is attached. This circuit uses a class X5R ceramic capacitor which has negative capacitance characteristic with increasing voltage. This looks like a perpetual motion machine of the second kind. I.e. it's converting heat into some other kind of energy (electrical energy and then back into heat and light through the lamp).

Ole

"what is a battery to resonance ? and what is simile to a varactor diode within an LC circuit ?"

Is it a voltage dependent capacitor? At discharged state its serial resistance is high. This could make its capacitance high. At full charged state its serial resistance il low which shorts out more of the capacitance or perhaps it is the other way around. This can be tested by some experiments.

The parametric change of the capacitance is probably the simile of a battery to a varactor diode. This can be used for parametric pumping like converting heat into electricity.

For the varactor (variable capacitance) diode:

Source: http://www.physics-and-radio-electronics.com/electronic-devices-and-circuits/semiconductor-diodes/varactordiode-construction-definition-working.html http://www.physics-and-radio-electronics.com/electronic-devices-and-circuits/semiconductor-diodes/varactordiode-construction-definition-working.html.

Some battery vs. capacitor discussions:
https://www.quora.com/How-can-we-measure-the-capacitance-of-a-battery https://www.quora.com/How-can-we-measure-the-capacitance-of-a-battery
https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/whats-the-capacitance-of-a-typical-cars-battery.574458/ https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/whats-the-capacitance-of-a-typical-cars-battery.574458/.

At discharged state it looks like a battery has great capacitance for charging while for discharging it looks like the fully charged battery has great capacitance. At fully charged state it looks like a battery has low capacitance when charging it. Or it could look like taking more charge while splitting the water molecules. Hector I guess you have measured what happens? The charge/discharge curve may tell something.

Ole

The principle of potential increase as the value of C is decreased was
published by Charles Yost, Electric Space Craft Journal (RIP) as found
in the Encyclopedia Britannica as an O/U device. I built one of the
variable capacitance devices, interleaved clover leaf capacitive plates
just like the old air variable tuning capacitors in your Ham rigs. The
Hyde Generator works on the principle of voltage multiplication when C
value is decreased. Most devices use a variable inductor to accomplish
the same phenomenon.

NormanThink how home computers and 3 D printers have changed the ease of building those clover leaf capacitors. You need to do a project book for kids to try building the simple stuff, using the technology that is now theirs. Enough of that trite shit like teddy bears, and vampire masks.Get the smart ones building stuff that matters..I remember my grade school best favourite book" the boy's book of model making" a printed in England, publication showing how to build steam engines, and pulse jet motors, with fold out pages of plans for real full sized projects. That was great for the early boomer era, but you get the idea.Later, the Whole Earth Catalog was the magic source. The Internet has been great, but we are losing it to jerks who just want power, and I don't mean energy.Politics, money, and religion have little in common with science, except they don't like people getting any ideas, that might topple their empires.Cheers Warren

Hi Andreas,

"However, this does not yet mean that we have more energy in the cap than was earlier stored in the magnetic field of the coil (just a higher voltage due to the capacitance reduction)."
Think of the electrocaloric effect: https://wiki2.org/en/Electrocaloric_effect https://wiki2.org/en/Electrocaloric_effect. This is just like the magnetocaloric effect (https://wiki2.org/en/Magnetocaloric_effect https://wiki2.org/en/Magnetocaloric_effect) but for electric fields.

If the circuit is a self-runner the energy must come from somewhere. My guess is that it converts ambient heat to electricity. Decreasing the capacitance to half its initial value at constant charge implies doubling the energy being stored. If there is some phase shift between the changing capacitance and the stored charge there could be some kind of parametric pumping. This of course requires going the proper way around the cycle in the phase plane.

Regards
Ole

It's in German and isn't the schematic I once saw. But it's the same person.

I read through the page. Unfortunately it contains no valuable information. They just make a fool of Hans Weber! :-( Without a more detailed description the above circuit is probably of not much use! :-( Too may open questions regarding the underlying concept. The circuit simply does not seem to make much sense as shown above (at least to me)!?

I found the schematic that I got of the self-runner and it is attached. This circuit uses a class X5R ceramic capacitor which has negative capacitance characteristic with increasing voltage. This looks like a perpetual motion machine of the second kind. I.e. it's converting heat into some other kind of energy (electrical energy and then back into heat and light through the lamp).

This looks interesting. The voltage in the tank rises, the capacitance decreases which leads to an even higher voltage in the tank not by just charging the cap further but squeezing together the charges on the plate due to the diminishing capacitance. However, this does not yet mean that we have more energy in the cap than was earlier stored in the magnetic field of the coil (just a higher voltage due to the capacitance reduction). The reduction of the magnetic field also causes EMF to be inducted in the secondary coils. One of these secondaries charges the cap though the diode. But this also diminishes the magnetic energy more quickly. I mot yet can see where this should go OU. Where is the energy transformation (heat to EMF) taking place and why?

Thanks,

Thanks of the link. This effect make sense for me. But it seems rather impractical for serious exploitation. What are these mW gadgets good for if there is no hope at all to ever being able to scale them up by factor of 10 million to be practical!?

I agree. But it seems we need to add energy to the system, either mechanically or thermodynamically!? And we need to to cool and heat a medium 100.000 times per second to exploit this reasonably, don’t we!? I can’t see yet how?

> If there is some phase shift between the changing capacitance and the stored charge there could be some kind of parametric pumping. This of course requires going the proper way around the cycle in the phase plane.

That might be the problem. We can do this in a classical heat pump setup with a designated compressor and expansion valve. Doing this in a core/dielectricum seems to be a totally different cup of tea. The effects are there but unfortunately minuscule and not easily controllable!? :-(

 Andreas

AndreasCheck out Rosemary Ainslie's complete most recent explanation, and also the Youtube videos by Aaron M. She is a physicist, and has now decided to go mano to mano against the paid trolls, using her more than adequate brains, leaving nothing to doubt. There is not much wiggle room around her thesis. The bench top replications are proving her correct, done by independant researchers. She is 100% public disclosure.
Google her, and step beyond the crap put out by the nay sayers. This is quantum physics in practice, and the wave of the future. You have to keep digging in your search efforts, to get her up dated thesis. She puts it as simple as it can be, and it comes very close to what some of us have been having interesting results with, even paranoid Hector AsTecumseh once said" be calm, be brave"Cheers Warren

Thanks for the headsup. I have finally ordered a couple of IRFPG50s (obviously the MOSFET she uses though I don’t think that this is part of the secret) and will give it a try. It seems they are intentionally generating oscillations in the gate source loop, although I don’t understand how this can be with so much dampening resistance in the loop. However, the circuit is simple. It might be worth a try. It should not be so easy though to measure the heat output to confirm the claims. We need to put the resistor into a well insulated water tube and measure the temperature rise to get meaningful result.
Best wishes, Andreas

Hi Warren, Andreas,

I just looked at one of Rosemary Ainslie's patent applications (https://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/originalDocument?CC=WO&NR=03007657A2&KC=A2&FT=D&ND=3&date=20030123&DB=&locale=en_EP# https://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/originalDocument?CC=WO&NR=03007657A2&KC=A2&FT=D&ND=3&date=20030123&DB=&locale=en_EP#).
This is a very basic switcher that has nothing to catch the flyback energy except for the avalanche breakdown of the switch. This is a very stressful way of using a transistor which is normally avoided.

Figure 2 of the above referred patent.

Normally when an avalanche (secondary breakdown) happens in a transistor it cannot shut off by itself and thus ends its life in smoke or in an explosion if the current isn't shut off externally.

The MOSFET Andreas mentioned (IRFPG50s https://www.vishay.com/docs/91254/91254.pdf) is repetitive avalanche rated and as such can withstand avalanches to some degree without destruction after the first electron avalanche through it.

Here is a document about avalanche in MOSFETs (Application Note AN-1005): https://www.vishay.com/docs/90160/an1005.pdf https://www.vishay.com/docs/90160/an1005.pdf.

Ole

Hi Andreas,

Both ways can be used. For low inductance of a current shunt let the return wire go close to and in parallel with the shunt resistor to minimize any area for the magnetic field.

Here the return wire is twisted around the current shunt.

Also the 50 Ohm feed through is necessary. Without it a lot of reflections will happen unless the scope itself has a 50 Ohm input. As scope inputs usually are 1M Ohm the signal will be reflected due to the great impedance mismatch from 50m Ohm to 1M Ohm and the signal will drown in noise. 50m Ohm to 50 Ohm reduces the reflections a lot.

Regards
Ole

How do you measure the current precisely? Voltage over a shunt or with a current probe? I found it even difficult to find shunts with low enough inductivity. :-(
