Hi Warren, Andreas,

I just looked at one of Rosemary Ainslie's patent applications (https://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/originalDocument?CC=WO&NR=03007657A2&KC=A2&FT=D&ND=3&date=20030123&DB=&locale=en_EP# https://worldwide.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/originalDocument?CC=WO&NR=03007657A2&KC=A2&FT=D&ND=3&date=20030123&DB=&locale=en_EP#).
This is a very basic switcher that has nothing to catch the flyback energy except for the avalanche breakdown of the switch. This is a very stressful way of using a transistor which is normally avoided.

Figure 2 of the above referred patent.

Normally when an avalanche (secondary breakdown) happens in a transistor it cannot shut off by itself and thus ends its life in smoke or in an explosion if the current isn't shut off externally.

The MOSFET Andreas mentioned (IRFPG50s https://www.vishay.com/docs/91254/91254.pdf) is repetitive avalanche rated and as such can withstand avalanches to some degree without destruction after the first electron avalanche through it.

Here is a document about avalanche in MOSFETs (Application Note AN-1005): https://www.vishay.com/docs/90160/an1005.pdf https://www.vishay.com/docs/90160/an1005.pdf.

Regards
Ole

Andreas That sounds like a good idea.
If one module works, then thousands might contribute a lot of heat, adding to the reservoir
Keep us alerted to your progress

Check out Rosemary Ainslie's complete most recent explanation, and also the Youtube videos by Aaron M. She is a physicist, and has now decided to go mano to mano against the paid trolls, using her more than adequate brains, leaving nothing to doubt. There is not much wiggle room around her thesis. The bench top replications are proving her correct, done by independant researchers. She is 100% public disclosure.
Google her, and step beyond the crap put out by the nay sayers.
This is quantum physics in practice, and the wave of the future.
You have to keep digging in your search efforts, to get her up dated thesis. She puts it as simple as it can be, and it comes very close to what some of us have been having interesting results with, even paranoid Hector
AsTecumseh once said" be calm, be brave”

Thanks for the headsup. I have finally ordered a couple of IRFPG50s (obviously the MOSFET she uses though I don’t think that this is part of the secret) and will give it a try. It seems they are intentionally generating oscillations in the gate source loop, although I don’t understand how this can be with so much dampening resistance in the loop. However, the circuit is simple. It might be worth a try. It should not be so easy though to measure the heat output to confirm the claims. We need to put the resistor into a well insulated water tube and measure the temperature rise to get meaningful result.

Best wishes,

 Andreas
