So the battery say a + 12.7 VDC one as seen from 4D perspective within a resonance tank fed by a diode bridge has  got a value of  -12.7  or J 12.7  that substracts as jX  from the resonant tank that sees it as LOADING  R (- resistance ) contrary to its impedance Z .... so it results in a phasor loading to the source increasing power factor and power usage into the useless dimension ( wasted power). 

see varactor diode tuning principles as they apply perfectly  mentioned a million times in my old postings !
