Jakob,

The number of slots is confusing as they messed up his motor but
basically the gist is for every other winding of the same phase the
windings are reversed in order to use the flyback pulse as an additive
vector.  The controller is PWM at 25kHz if I recall correctly.  ON MC33035

I have the controller build out PDF but it is over 20 meg

Then there is another circuit on each phase with steering diodes to
collect back emf and feed it back to the battery.

it would not be difficult to rewind a BLDC Chinese hub motor and run it
from the controller Golden motors is a good source.

His original system used deep cycle lead acid the Brandt Tesla switch
and could run for a couple hundred miles between charges or before the
batteries got too hot, not sure of the issues but I assume he wanted a
powerpack based on negative energy so it would not run down.  His
earlier motors were pulsed type with caps similar to EV gray as I
understand it but he stalled the design after the relativistic effects
of the field locking the lady in her trailer.  Unfortunately there is
not much info left about Ronald Brandt and the person who bought his
estate likely sold out to the highest bidder whatever was left.  Sad
that these WITT assholes got their hooks in but one good thing may have
happened.  As soon as the purchaser of the estate went public Buster
from Wittless open sourced Brandt's motor work, so likely a jealousy
thing or a tactic to force the prices down on the asking price for
remaining motors. Either or allowed us to see what normally would be
stashed away.   I am sure the wiitless creeps made all sorts of money
promises with just enough juice to keep the wheels rolling forwards as
con men are apt to do.

I have never spoken to Buster but did have the displeasure of speaking
to Tim Thrapp once, had a very alcohol pickled vibe,  definite con man
with jail background.

Yes Mick, i could not agree more,he obviously was putting his whole energie to do the right .

Believe it or not it was the first time for me to hear how much OXYGEN is used up in a fossil fuel
motor. I was allways interested zo use less fuel, obviously, but to get this straight piece of truth so
hard was a shoke. Sadly i still could not build his motor becouse i dont have the facts about the
nr of windings, or diameter of wire ,or current restricting circuit or the speed control at all exept it was
pulsed. I also dont get the relation from 49 windings slots to 16 magnet rows.Where has the
unused one to be in three phase? I need to lern more (a lot).

Warren,

They make a few diff models but in reference to the BLDC there are all
sort of things one can try and Doug is master of many, however this
discussion had to do with building a Brandt motor, which to perform
properly requires a BLDC controller with variable frequency and duty
cycle and rewinding the motor which is not a small undertaking.

The Brandt design uses the hall sensor placement and an opposite wind
every other slot of the same phase.  The timing on the controller is set
so the opposite windings are in the off position making use of the
collapse, so it is an assymetric motor.

Best to start with an after market controller one that uses the hall
sensors to tell which phase should firing when.  If I were you and could
find a controller like this I would run a generator load off it lighting
some steady load and tune the thing for the least load spinning it.  I
would then use steering diodes off all three phases to charge the
battery running the experiment and for every improvement in tuning write
down results or use a memory scope or recording voltmeter to graph it.

Mounting the hall sensors in a lexan circle one could rotate after
figuring out the proper spacing for them would also be critical for tuning.

This I would try first before attempting the full Brandt motor with the
rewind because that requires some pretty solid knowledge and
experience.  Remember, Ronald Brandt began winding motors as a child by
the time he made that video he had some real chops.

Jakob,

To answer your other question more succinctly about the slots we can
only guess as his workshop had stators with many diff designs many in
which he broke off existing slots in diff patterns.  Assuming he did not
want even harmonic modes returning as back emf the extra slot is very
likely be just one winding of the next phase in the line, the controller
does not care as long as timing is correct via the hall pickup placement
and duty cycle trim controls.  Remember he is using dead time during the
flyback pulse.  Somehow he is getting an uneven pulsetrain so the off
and on parts of the duty cycle are independently tune-able.  Likely why
he chose a controller with such a high frequency modulator so he would
have lots of room to chop the waveforms unevenly on lots of poles.
This is probably why the company made the mistake machining as they
asked themselves the same question and second guessed him.

Think of a magnetron vs a cross field amplifier, the magnetron has an
even number of cavities the cross field an odd number.  The magnetron is
an ocillator while the cross field is an amplifier.

Jakob,

The number of slots is confusing as they messed up his motor but basically the gist is for every other winding of the same phase the windings are reversed in order to use the flyback pulse as an additive vector.  The controller is PWM at 25kHz if I recall correctly.  ON MC33035

I have the controller build out PDF but it is over 20 meg

Then there is another circuit on each phase with steering diodes to collect back emf and feed it back to the battery.

it would not be difficult to rewind a BLDC Chinese hub motor and run it from the controller Golden motors is a good source.

His original system used deep cycle lead acid the Brandt Tesla switch and could run for a couple hundred miles between charges or before the batteries got too hot, not sure of the issues but I assume he wanted a powerpack based on negative energy so it would not run down.  His earlier motors were pulsed type with caps similar to EV gray as I understand it but he stalled the design after the relativistic effects of the field locking the lady in her trailer.  Unfortunately there is not much info left about Ronald Brandt and the person who bought his estate likely sold out to the highest bidder whatever was left.  Sad that these WITT assholes got their hooks in but one good thing may have happened.  As soon as the purchaser of the estate went public Buster from Wittless open sourced Brandt's motor work, so likely a jealousy thing or a tactic to force the prices down on the asking price for remaining motors. Either or allowed us to see what normally would be stashed away.   I am sure the wiitless creeps made all sorts of money promises with just enough juice to keep the wheels rolling forwards as con men are apt to do.

I have never spoken to Buster but did have the displeasure of speaking to Tim Thrapp once, had a very alcohol pickled vibe,  definite con man with jail background.

 Hi Jakob

I believe that is the motor of Ron Brandt that
 Dennis Lee

usually used to spin the hummingbird
 generator.

Look up his name and do some searching about
 it...he
 passed

away while ago far as I know.

One Dennis Lee video has RB.show up late to
 the show, out
 of

breath after driving across country he did not

The key really is no Lenz generator ...if
 permanent magnet

rotor in generator look for sweet spot in rpms
 where rotor

speeds up under generator coil loading and
 Lenz law does
 brake and slow down rotor.
Very generally 16 magnet rotor will have sweet
 spot window

of 2100 to 2300 rpm, this based on video Woopy
 put out a
 few

 years ago of simple experiment.

Warren,

Just buy a controller for it, it may have the hall sensors mounted
already and try tuning it and use some steering diodes collect the back
EMF.  Sounds like a pretty easy thing to get started with and learn
alot.  Otherwise just use it as a Bedini type battery charger by
separting the flyback pulse or as a DC generator with a 3 phase rectifier.

If you don't want it I will take it.

Kone,

Its a BLDC motor.  The outside is the rotor like a hub motor so the
centrifugal force holds them in place along with his super magnet glue,
rotates the magnets not a shield.  There are two main types of pulse
systems for BLDC I forget the names but has to do with waveshape.  Easy
to see which his is by the scope brainfade on the name right now.

He has no heat problems as the reverse windings suck it off on the
flyback pulse during rest cycle of the pulsetrain.

He is using both back EMF and the flyback pulse in different
modalities.  Steering diodes to collect Lenz back emf and reverse
windings every other slot per phase: Phase one forward wound, skip two
reverse wound skip two forward wound, same for each phase.  33035 and
33039 chips run it

Kone, the mags were NSNSNS so I suppose you are correct.   I guess they
flyback being sent to the caps is what cooled it off as the neg pulse
pulling out the heat.  With the steering diodes he is collecting both
types, either or, flyback or back EMF I would think.

The information is published and I think WITT put their name on the
drawings which were allegedly drawn by someone names M Cooke in 2016 who
also seems to have put together Gerber files and some serious
engineering work.  Don't know who this could be.  Maybe the guy Maurice
who wrote about Ron?

The reverse winds I think had much to do with the cooling of the unit
whether it was just stored into caps or timed to act with the magnets
also which I suspect from his little comment of making something next to
something just a little more or less, I would have to watch vid again to
quote properly.   Much is speculation since it's an extremely complex
motor and I have never built one or had the luxury of using one.  In the
video Ron was very specific about testing iron amounts in depth for
flyback times.

Do you know anyone who may have any Brandt tech left?

Also ironic the people who give video testimonials of working over unity
for WITTS look as pissed off and disillusioned as the moon landing
astronauts required to lie to the public about going to the moon on a
kerosine bomb rather than antigrav.  I guess they made the testimonials
for WITT being told some of their money would be recovered.

Sad a con man formerly put in jail likely in many instances all the
sudden has the green light as long as he is scamming the free energy crowd.

Kone, this washing machine deal sounds like same idea of Hectors using
brush gen head and connecting a VFD to the disconnected exciter brushes
then tuning the VFD pulse to the sweet spot for the motor speed at the
load required.  The VFD likely works better or only owrks if the system
is also servoed so the VFD is synched to pulse from one shaft position
so phase is always as needed.  Without the servo I think the system
would have too mush drift even if one was lucky enough to get it spot on.

Hi Mick could also be the 49th slot was meant as dead time once a revolution as time for no pulse at all and the period where flyback collector caps discharge to loaf, with it being necessary for caps to be fully disconnected from pulse circuit and steering diodes during discharge to load, otherwise discharge of caps reflectvseverely back into the primAry draw motor, slow rotor raise draw terrible tec....thisbreason for growl to motor in video and fact rpms drops 1000rpm with steering diodes to caps connected but he has to connect steering diodes or transistors blow up like he said....so this motor not a really good working example what it could be.

If it can work for a yacht, then it will work for me, a pity to only get sketchy info.Cheers Warren

 Hi Jakob

I believe that is the motor of Ron Brandt that
 Dennis Lee

usually used to spin the hummingbird
 generator.

Look up his name and do some searching about
 it...he
 passed

away while ago far as I know.

One Dennis Lee video has RB.show up late to
 the show, out
 of

breath after driving across country he did not
 look very

 healthy.

The key really is no Lenz generator ...if
 permanent magnet

rotor in generator look for sweet spot in rpms
 where rotor

speeds up under generator coil loading and
 Lenz law does
 brake and slow down rotor.
Very generally 16 magnet rotor will have sweet
 spot window

of 2100 to 2300 rpm, this based on video Woopy
 put out a
 few

 years ago of simple experiment.

Bummer it is so complicated to follow in Brandt's footsteps. Why is it always made difficult?A rotoverter for driver?Cheers Warren

Warren,

They make a few diff models but in reference to the BLDC there are all sort of things one can try and Doug is master of many, however this discussion had to do with building a Brandt motor, which to perform properly requires a BLDC controller with variable frequency and duty cycle and rewinding the motor which is not a small undertaking.

The Brandt design uses the hall sensor placement and an opposite wind every other slot of the same phase.  The timing on the controller is set so the opposite windings are in the off position making use of the collapse, so it is an assymetric motor.

Best to start with an after market controller one that uses the hall sensors to tell which phase should firing when.  If I were you and could find a controller like this I would run a generator load off it lighting some steady load and tune the thing for the least load spinning it.  I would then use steering diodes off all three phases to charge the battery running the experiment and for every improvement in tuning write down results or use a memory scope or recording voltmeter to graph it.

Mounting the hall sensors in a lexan circle one could rotate after figuring out the proper spacing for them would also be critical for tuning.

This I would try first before attempting the full Brandt motor with the rewind because that requires some pretty solid knowledge and experience.  Remember, Ronald Brandt began winding motors as a child by the time he made that video he had some real chops.

My ears perked up when you mentioned Golden motors. How does one best exploit them? I don't happen to have a controller for my dumpster found unit. Otherwise, it is in good running shape, I think. Cheers Warren

 Jakob,
Ron Brandt was a brilliant man.  The creeps at Witts

 Hi Jakob

I believe that is the motor of Ron Brandt that
 Dennis Lee

usually used to spin the hummingbird
 generator.

Look up his name and do some searching about
 it...he
 passed

away while ago far as I know.

One Dennis Lee video has RB.show up late to
 the show, out
 of

breath after driving across country he did not
 look very

 healthy.

The key really is no Lenz generator ...if
 permanent magnet

rotor in generator look for sweet spot in rpms
 where rotor

speeds up under generator coil loading and
 Lenz law does
 brake and slow down rotor.
Very generally 16 magnet rotor will have sweet
 spot window

of 2100 to 2300 rpm, this based on video Woopy
 put out a
 few

 years ago of simple experiment.

Hi Jakob and Mick and all
Very good video of Ron Brandt.
I learned alot; he uses hall effects and transistors to pulse. Very strong neodymium magnets 100lb pull,
Iron core material, no brushes so windings stationary while magnets rotate but is possible magnets also stationary with some sort of magnetic interruptor/sheild rotates between magnets and coils similar to Eklin which he mentions he built some of.
Studyng that cross section drawing more will tell what it is that rotates ...i would imagine heat problems and much drag to rotation if he is rotating magnets of that strength past iron cores especially if it gets to to high rpms above 3000...so maybe it is a rotating interruptoe plate/ring of some kind working like an Eklin machine.
It is 3ph and looks like DC from scope, showing just one of the three phases. I don't think AC like rotovertor with run cap/rotary transformer phase
but could be...has backemf/recoil flyback recovery (Sorry Norm he calls it back emf) and interesting it goes 1000rpm faster with it disconnected so sounds like he has not got that quite right yet however he says he does save it into caps and uses it onr next pulse ...his draw of 2100 watts pretty heavy maybe this is while loaded on dynometr which isn't too bad.

Hi Mick
I know someone worked with Witts he had small pulsemotorthat would run itself, but only at the Witts lab it would work...he discovered they shot microwaves from next room to fool people. Also talked to owner of big solar panel company and he visited Witts he said when they turned on their demo, his arms would fling in air so I told him of microwave beams he wasn't so happy about that.
Brandt I suspect was open source everyone wanted his motors running their generators....as example Dennis Lee used his motor inSundance generator, demos also guy who worked with Witts told me Ztech the Gray motor corporation people threatened Ron too so really he was everywhere and sold or gave it to anyone who wanted it. I doubt Witts gave out a penny to Ron and just published his patent with some rest data and called it theirs.
The reverse winding thing for flyback doesn't work that good as you need to save in caps first then dump cap after it has good joules in it for a good.motor effect...impossible I think after each pulse...maybe 4 pulsed then on cap blast minimum....you don't need reverse winds just reverse polarity of cap discharge too ...the "raw" flyback upon hitting resistance of motor winds just doesn't do much - in fact stuffs it out unless you save it up for awile in caps ..i suspect the every other winding reversed is so magnet positioned right between the two opposite wound windings will both push and pull same time for double the torque if those two windings connected in series or parallel...i do this in some of my motors you need to reverse pulse direction every other pulse for AC like DC pulsing for it to work...magnets must be NSNS not NNNN and coil size and gap between magnets important so coil will stretch across bridging both N and S magnet edge to get simultaneous pull and push.

Hi Mick
If permanent magnets in rotor it is synchronous no worries of drift then. Hector's out runner is to use motor or genset with permanent magnets in stator housing and ditch the brushes and now spin the stator housing around the now stationary "rotor" field winding, bringing each commutator segment out via wires through hollow or channeled axle and diode on each wire.
More you look into generator designs the more you will see simplicity and superiority of Muller design
..flat rotor coils each side so both sides of rotor magnets do work so twice as powerful already....easy to build no brushes coils can be motor or generator or both Airgap easy adjust design stackable for better and better efficiency as then both sides of coils , along with magnets too, do work as imagine three or six flat rotors on same axle coils sandwiched between

Hi Mick
Well on bright side I see those manyy pancake washing machine motors on market you can salvage for free are actually copies of Ron Brandt motors, as windings and cores looks same, they are 3ph, and it has those curved magnets that rotate in drum out side of the windings and cores. Very similar and those pancake washing machine motors very great motors to spin stuff with just do your own timing and pulsing via halls and.mosfets
Note also Ron mentions to get 30hp or 50hp motor, the stator diameter remains same, but you stack more units onto axle lemgth...also similar to pancake washing machine motors if you want to power a car you will need maybe 4 or 5 on common axle....
Kone
MickI have made a base support for it so that it can be driven with a vee belt, which I did, and yes, it has ac between the three output/ input wires, as it is almost a Kone type of muller,  only, with the wires coming through the axle, and the magnets travelling around the coils.Like you, I am using it as a learning tool.Cheers Warren

Warren,

Just buy a controller for it, it may have the hall sensors mounted already and try tuning it and use some steering diodes collect the back EMF.  Sounds like a pretty easy thing to get started with and learn alot.  Otherwise just use it as a Bedini type battery charger by separting the flyback pulse or as a DC generator with a 3 phase rectifier.

If you don't want it I will take it.

 Hi Jakob

I believe that is the motor of Ron Brandt that
 Dennis Lee

usually used to spin the hummingbird
 generator.

Look up his name and do some searching about
 it...he
 passed

One Dennis Lee video has RB.show up late to
 the show, out

The key really is no Lenz generator ...if
 permanent magnet

rotor in generator look for sweet spot in rpms
 where rotor

speeds up under generator coil loading and
 Lenz law does
 brake and slow down rotor.
Very generally 16 magnet rotor will have sweet
