I have only read to the following paragraph cited below. I wonder if the applicant knows about what he is writing. Since Power=voltage×current, a single power input produces two branches of electromagnetic power output, increasing the power output. In the alternative, the present disclosure may have one electromagnetic power output with less energy input." It isn't as simple as this. If using an oscilloscope for measuring the current and voltage it will show some phase displacement between the current and voltage which means reactive power. Only real power is useful in doing work. Reactive power doesn't do work except for the small active part heating the the wires and other components because of their parasitic resistance. This part caused by current doing work against the resistance is active power and not actually reactive power. This is why the power distributing companies may charge costumers for having high reactive power going through their cables which heats the power lines without transferring active power to their costumers. It's just pure loss because the wires have resistance. Resistance converts electric power into heat. Just looked at the figures and found the description to figure 46: "[0149] FIG. 46 illustrates an embodiment of the present disclosure that conserves light bulb energy. In a test conducted, on Nov. 16, 1998, a light bulb was installed according to the schematic disclosed in FIG. 46 and is still running seven years later. [0150] Since Apparent Power (VA)=Current (A)×Voltage (V), the calculations below illustrate energy conservation for a 60 W light bulb. The voltage applied at the power input is 115 V. The apparent power for the Power Input Line (Line PIN) is measured at 126.5 VA. The apparent power measured for the shed motor fan is 126.5 VA and the apparent power measured for the light bulb is 65 VA. Therefore, 126 VA is measured at the input and a total of 191.5 VA is measured at the output, indicating an approximately 1.5 gain. Calculations are also shown for the energy savings for a 75W Bulb." It is the apparent power that is increased. The apparent power is the vector sum of the real power and the reactive power which makes it always greater than or equal to the real (or active or true) power. Ole, I have had caps charge much faster in an LC tank than otherwise, but it could also have to do with noise in the core material as I was no using an air inductor. I have been thinking a lot about my Locked Rotor experiments and did a lot of reading to come up with a fool proof Lenz free motor / generator combination which is so easy to build and proof test! First of all you should read what we know as facts! What I will propose is very simple application of DC motor principles as read from the cited references. First you make your LENZ free motor which is in reality a LINEAR MOTOR (Solenoid) which will give the necessary stroke length to drive the LINEAR generator (Coil oscillating within the drag free, LENZ free area of the Neo magnets). Stroke of the solenoid is controlled by Hall sensor and IGBT drive switch to give an excursion rate (stroke) at a frequency of 60 HZ. By using a DC pulse to drive the solenoid coil it is tricked into being in LOCKED ROTOR condition, thus no LENZ effect. Has the light come on yet?? We know that Ray's generator puts out a sine wave output (AC) with no LENZ drag. Following the DC motor principles as applied to the solenoid driver, you have a motor that is LENZ free also. The combo should give an Over-unity output. Now the tricky part! We know as Ole will agree in that when you switch the solenoid power to off state as magnetic flux is building toward saturation there will be a huge voltage spike (Neutral Spike) which we have to capture and not send to ground as ordinary practice in solid state switch design (snubber diodes) The capture of the SPIKE energy (HV) which occurs naturally will be the over-unity factor here! Some additional factors that have to be considered such as resonance both mechanical and electrical. Mechanical is same as in a pendulum action where there is a natural frequency to target based on weight of coil and driving mechanism and gravity. Warren, Iron, Further thought on this as follows! The solenoid linear motor can be operated just the same as the old Outboard Marine Magnetos that I studied to such detail. What made them so efficient was the three pole coil stator which received a forward going current in primary windings , magnets passing 1st and 2nd pole pieces before top dead center which charged up the condenser when current reached peak. When breaker points opened the rotating magnets were passing the 2nd and 3rd pole pieces inducing a reverse polarity current in the primary windings and the discharge current from the condenser was in phase which accelerated the magnetic flux reversal. On a scope the primary current represented an instantaneous straight down line (nano second response). This was accomplished due to the fact that the .026mfd condenser was a perfect L_C match with the coil impedance. (Ultra high Q) . It is important to incorporate this magneto electric effect into the switching design of the solenoid linear motor. See, there is a L-C high Q relationship here. I just threw out the 60 HZ time base but for design simplicity, any switching frequency can be selected. Just as the Tesla mechanical oscillators worked at a relative low frequency! Just as pointed out, we are making a Tesla Oscillator which is driven by DC . Thoughts??? Ron is talking about a small increase in the input power for an output power bigger than the increase of the input power. This is a wrong way of calculating the efficiency. Motors have different efficiencies depending on load. Thus this tells nothing about what really happens without consulting the datasheet of the motor or measuring the data himself. Ron also mentions that the magnetic field of the rotor is only north poles. He forgets that magnetic fields are always forming loops. The field goes all the way through the magnet out of it and back into it at the opposite pole. The reason for having a good magnetic conductor with as small as possible air gap in motors and generators is that air is a quite bad conductor of magnetism. If using big air gaps or long magnetic paths the motor will be very big even for small power. Hi NormI have collected several reciprocal set ups that can utilize solenoid drives, ever since I saw those amazing coil leaps, from our friend in Indonesia.One is a water pump, with ball bearings and sump meant for a cottage supply well. The cylinder block is separate, and can easily be replaced by a good sized solenoid, that can easily be home custom made. Hi Mick, At resonance (in LC-tank) the capacitive impedance (imaginary part) cancels the inductive impedance (imaginary part) leaving only the resistance of the LC-tank circuit. The reactance of a capacitor is negative while the reactance of an inductor is positive. At resonance they are equal in magnitude but of opposite sign which cancel them out. Yes that's correct. Common power factor correction in AC is for eliminating the reactive power that doesn't do any work but just heats the wires between the power plant and the reactive load. This is expensive for the owners of the power transmission lines and thus should be avoided. First storing the energy in a capacitor (or inductor or battery) and then dumping it to an active load will still make the power go in just one direction even though it happens in pulses. The energy is then moving from the source to the load. Reactive power has the energy moving to and from the load and power source. The power moving between the capacitor and inductor in an LC-tank is pure reactive except for the loss because of the parasitic resistance in the components and wires. Only real power is useful in doing work. Reactive power doesn't do work except for the small active part heating the the wires and other components because of their parasitic resistance. This part caused by current doing work against the resistance is active power and not actually reactive power. This is why the power distributing companies may charge costumers for having high reactive power going through their cables which heats the power lines without transferring active power to their costumers. It's just pure loss because the wires have resistance. Resistance converts electric power into heat. Shielding that way doesn't help for magnetic fields. The signal wires would probably improve if screened cable was used. But it all depends on how the wires are rigged up to avoid loops transmitting and receiving magnetic fields (magnetic coupling). When getting hot they may need more cooling or they are used at their maximum power dissipation. Remember the power dissipation given in the datasheet is normally when the surface of the device is held at 20 degree Celsius which is only possible when using water cooling or heavy forced air cooling like pressurized air flow. If the drain-source voltage is reaching the avalanche breakdown voltage of the MOSFETs this will dissipate a lot of heat in them. Also switching high voltages at high current gives great switching loss if the switching transitions take too long. During switching transitions the MOSFETs are working in the linear region which means both voltage across and current through them at the same time. This dissipates heat as voltage times current gives power [V x A = W]. Multiply this by the transition time to get energy dissipation [W x s = J]. Look at the gate source signal as this controls the drain source channel. Have you found out how to make free energy or is it still just reactive power? I have made some simple experiments along the way of Pierre Cotnoir's device. I may have simplified it too much as I used a bunch of small transformers instead of a motor stator as in Pierre's device. No excess power output was observed. My next experiment is along the way of the Clemente Figuera patents (http://alpoma.net/tecob/?page_id=8258 http://alpoma.net/tecob/?page_id=8258). He may actually mix the fields the right way for coherence to occur. This could also be the way Alfred Hubbard's device worked.
