The only thing that I noticed is that I can build a small spark gap with a ground cable on the iron core of the resonant transformer, if you hold the wire just to the laminate, there is a permanent little blue spark. Hello Jakob, you quoted me. The way I see your drawing I should use the energy to pass it through a transformer before. The spark is quite small and if you touch your fingers there is a tingling, I do not think that you can draw the power from it. On my Youtube channel, I have a better experiment on the connection of the earth. It's about a diode splitter transformer from an old TV with which I generate high voltage and discharge the energy over a spark gap. When I connect the earth to the negative side minus the spark gap arcing increases sharply to the number in the same time, without the extra energy being applied. I find that very interesting that over the earth apparently extra energy is sucked in. Personally, I find it very dangerous to work with these voltages, and spark gaps are not my cup of tea since it produces ozone and is not exactly health promoting. laughing. regards Sven

Cheers Warren Hi Warren, this is a diode split transformer (DST) in which are already installed diodes so the transformer can only deliver DC pulses. Warren I was thinking of using old batteries not usable for anything but recycling .the plastic Case's too . what do the use for a bus bar to connect the plates .? JamesOld batteries are just fineWhile you are doing your lead meltingMake yourself a little mold for the connecting bus bars, and solder them while assembling the batteryOne can really enjoy this whole process of casting metals.Lead melts at such a low temperature, like solder, that I often just use a tuna fish can on the top of the stove for small castings.If you like the process, you can make whatever you want in various alloys.I digress.Lead can be cast in silicone molds, dry plaster, even wood use a 3/4" thick steel plate topped table work bench, or even the top of my cast iron table saw.If you want to have fun just casting objects, or making hollow copper, or nickel complex shapes, remember you can electroplate the lead ( or Cerobend) and then melt out the lead leaving the seamless copper form.Battery plates are very straight forward for deep cycle as you just don't care how much they weigh.Fat plates are just fine.Mars metals here in Ontario, makes lead sheets, and they can come in numerous thicknesses.Your used batteries work fine and are very cheap. Thanks Warren for the insight on them but here I would have to use a modified camp stove there big with a large propane burner .here's a PDF you may not have yet .in it is the possibility of your five horse power source .and just how different it really is from normal electric .I like using a computer read from text function on my tablet with it it turns the 150 pages in to a audio book making it a lot easier to get though .easy on the eyes .ears only .
