Kone, Thats is really cool. When making your cores from the florist wire did you ever try twisting them in the direction of the windings? Hi all Gary has finished the looping motor generator project now waiting for glue to dry and will run it today or tommorow. This is copy of the Looper that ran for three years in RV someone lived in, then this guy sold it to someone in South america who now had it in a yacht. So it's a Samsung pancake washing machine motor as prime mover, a flywheel, 4 ecm motors working as generators and some belts and pulleys to get the ecm motors up to their no Lenz rpm window via Thane Karl Heinz delayed Lenz effect is how I understand it. Gary was given directions to take it up slowly in rpms with load on the ecm generators, and and when the amps driving the samsung pancake motor drops significantly ,now hold it there and try and loop it.. Looping would be to run invertor with the 40 farad cap bank while simultaneously filling this cap bank with one to four of the ecm motors working as generators. Gary also placed hand wound pickup coils next to the drive coils of the pancake motor, to make more power from these too...this something the original builder did not do. This idea similar to what I always talk about,; to extend length of a motor coil core, and place pickup winds behind the motor coil in orfer yo take advantage of all the wasted flux on backend of coil that is not pushing or pulling rotor magnet or rotor coil... At 1:46 Gary explains how he pocessrs the pickup coil energy, and that also is what I always talk about, in to fill caps only and dump caps to load oh when caps now disconnected from coils (two stage output) Anyways here is link...check later on his youtube channel to see how it goes ...far as I know Gary is not on any forums and communicates yhrough.yputube and email...he was here for awhile maybe 7 years ago but left after bickering and negativity which I think evgray is pretty much rid of nowadays...so here is the link: https://youtu.be/xUv07Eimrgo

DougGary Porters experiment looks very exciting. With his set up, It appears that I might be able to build one, based on my 90 lb flywheel rig, providing I use a Sanyo type motor, that might be able to drive the flywheel. I would like to try to replicate Gary's device that can be looped, but need more information. Is it possible to contact Gary?Cheers Warren Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Sun, 20 Jan 2019 at 7:06 AM, [email protected] [EVGRAY]<[email protected]> wrote: Hi all Gary has finished the looping motor generator project now waiting for glue to dry and will run it today or tommorow. GuysThe heat pump is pumping in the stone barn.It has a little four button key pad with a screen, one of those damn things where you have hold two buttons down, spin yourself around three times, crack a fart, and bow to the East, in an effort just to align with the gods of cheap energy. As an industrial designer, I say it sucks in the human engineering, user friendly era, compared to my comfort zone of Variacs, and knife switches, as in Frankenstein's laboratory.Anyway it is running on low, while a winter storm rages outside.I made us pan cakes from the basic recipe in the "Joy of Cooking" cook book, adding an over ripe banana to the mix. The vanilla extract was brought up from the market in St George's Grenada by sailing schooner. The eggs came from Marianne, at the farm, across the road, and the maple syrup was a gift from Ross, and Laurel, that they made up from their stand of sugar maples, and dropped off as a gift, when they came to visit our new place. We were snowed in this morning. It is -20C but there is a wind chill of -31CDave came by with his four wheel drive blue tractor, sporting a heated cab, a snow blower and a front end bucket, clearing the snow from our long lane, parking lot and barn yard, tossing it 30 feet away, across the yard.Hopefully, my studio/ workshop with be soon comfortable enough to work in, as the 5" slab warms up.The walls are two foot thick solid rubble stone about 170 years old.The metal roof and poured tube filled concrete floor are new. So is the air to liquid heat pump, heating system, on since Friday after, noon.Hopefully, I can build a Gary Porter generator to help out around here.Cheers Warren Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Sun, 20 Jan 2019 at 11:41 AM, Warren Keillor [email protected] [EVGRAY]<[email protected]> wrote: Doug Gary Porters experiment looks very exciting. With his set up, It appears that I might be able to build one, based on my 90 lb flywheel rig, providing I use a Sanyo type motor, that might be able to drive the flywheel.

Warren, There are some very inexpensive 3 phase BLDC motor controllers now, even ones that are Auduino compatible. This looks like a nice one to try, cant go wrong for 40 bucks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/48-72V-1500W-Electric-Bicycle-E-bike-Scooter-Brushless-DC-Motor-Speed-Controller/183306034669?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D6ff9b47e8245411285cf9925e8e1d3ae%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D183492960967%26itm%3D183306034669&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 On 1/20/2019 5:35 PM, Warren Keillor [email protected] [EVGRAY] wrote: > > > Doug > > I have that Golden motor powered bicycle hub motor that I fitted on a > stand. Hi Warren I guess first take that golden motor up to high rpms like 5500 see if it has sweet spot where the delayed Lenz effect happens which will probably be in a 200rpm range window above and below ( so if it is found no Lenz at 5500 there will be Lenz braking above 5700 and below 5300rpm as probable xample) Once you find no Lenz rpmd then build step up belt and pulley assembly so prime mover (rotovertor?l) runs at comfortable speed but golden motor really raving. If yo want golden motor as prime mover, then I would guess spin some sort of generator with permanent magnet rotor at its delayed-Lenz rpm window with it. Perhaps good test to find delayed Lenz rpm window in various motors working as generators is to run treaill motor on 120vac through fwbr and use variac for speed control... Keep eyeball on amps input and spin motor working as generator with heavy load on it and see what rpms the amps input goes down dramatically General rule of thumb if 16 magnet rotor against ferrous cored coil expect around 2200rpm if coil about 16 ohms (woopys test results) I will guess that 5500rpm bedini mentioned to Bart is for 6 magnet rotor stepper motor where delayed Lenz kicks in...i bet with cores your big Muller would have no Lenz also around that 2200 rpm too. Gary said original builder did not need flywheel to loop itnut just made it easier when load was intriduced. Gary's email: [email protected]

Warren, Nope just some bridge diodes if that is your intention, not exactly sure as per Gary as I have not analyzed the design. However it might be interesting to use one of these controllers on a rewired rotor with a high pole count as a motor gen all in one by disconnecting some of the drive poles and using for generation rather than drive. I would likely run the washing machine motor if Kone's text below is your intention. "So it's a Samsung pancake washing machine motor as prime mover, a flywheel, 4 ecm motors working as generators and some belts and pulleys to get the ecm motors up to their no Lenz rpm window via Thane Karl Heinz delayed Lenz effect is how I understand it." DougI have that Golden motor powered bicycle hub motor that I fitted on a stand. What do I need to do to run it like Gary's, as a generator? In the past, I put bridge rectifiers between a,b,c. to harvest dc.Obviously, one has to do something more clever, to get it to loop in some way.I never have had a proper motor driver circuit for this dumpster diver salvaged motor.I did rig it up so it can be v belt driven and is mounted on a stand.Cheers Warren Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Sun, 20 Jan 2019 at 7:06 AM, [email protected] [EVGRAY]<[email protected]> wrote: Hi all Gary has finished the looping motor generator project now waiting for glue to dry and will run it today or tommorow. Hi MickThe Golden motor is an ECM motor! It has a lot more poles than Gary's.I was just thinking.......Of course, picking up a Sanyo pan cake , if that is what is being used.I am trying to loop, to heat the stone barn by means of the heat pump, just for curiosity, to see if it can be done. Oh, if it works, I just might yank out the diesel in my little canal boat, and replace that Yanmar with two 3hp tread mill motors driving the prop. I just don't want to bother much with traction batteries, so a looping generator seems the next best option for auxiliary propulsion, since it is also a sail boat. There is a very pretty canal nearby, going up to Ottawa, built in the 1820's. What fun to do it with out fuel. Getting rid of stinky diesel is a bonus.ľBuilding a working Gary Porter generator is stage 1.Cheers Warren Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Sun, 20 Jan 2019 at 8:54 PM, Mick [email protected] [EVGRAY]<[email protected]> wrote: Warren, Nope just some bridge diodes if that is your intention, not exactly sure as per Gary as I have not analyzed the design. However it might be interesting to use one of these controllers on a rewired rotor with a high pole count as a motor gen all in one by disconnecting some of the drive poles and using for generation rather than drive. I would likely run the washing machine motor if Kone's text below is your intention. Hi DougThank you very much.I think there are some fun projects in mind, here, that Gary might like to see too.The Golden motor is just to replace an ECM motor, as that is what it is, except it has a lot more poles. How can more poles be bad?The idea of cranking up the Golden to a high speed to find a no lenz sweet spot is good. Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Sun, 20 Jan 2019 at 10:53 PM, [email protected] [EVGRAY]<[email protected]> wrote: Hi Warren I guess first take that golden motor up to high rpms like 5500 see if it has sweet spot where the delayed Lenz effect happens which will probably be in a 200rpm range window above and below ( so if it is found no Lenz at 5500 there will be Lenz braking above 5700 and below 5300rpm as probable xample) Once you find no Lenz rpmd then build step up belt and pulley assembly so prime mover (rotovertor?l) runs at comfortable speed but golden motor really raving. Hi Warren You really don't need scope to find no Lenz sweet spot in rpms...16 dollar rpm meter off eBay is all you need. Just load generator so it does have bad Lenz braking then increase rpms until it drops dramatic in amp draw to prime mover. Kone

DougThat sounds not so different than tuning the Rotoverter, which is quite easy to do, with a proper capacitor tuning box.Cheers Warren Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Mon, 21 Jan 2019 at 12:51 AM, [email protected] [EVGRAY]<[email protected]> wrote: Hi Warren You really don't need scope to find no Lenz sweet spot in rpms...16 dollar rpm meter off eBay is all you need. Hi Warren Unless you have a good Variable Frequency Drive instead of the 60hz grid or 60hz invertor, you are pretty much stuck to 1800 or 3600rpms to a rotovertor motor so unless you have a VFD a rotovertor wouldn't be much good to find the delayed Lenz effect in various permanent magnet rotored motors working as generators. However once you do find the rpm sweet spot window to some sort of stepper or muller or your golden motpr, now it's simple work to step up rpms to that rpm window using proper sized pulleys and belts...and use the rotovertor more now as primemover, and now adjust run cap if to give the rotovertor motor sone torque to the shaft. DougYou have lost me, we seem to be at apples and oranges. Lets go back to basics, and talk about where the magic is coming from out of parts of the apparatus. What is the best report regarding the RV being used as a prime mover motor, terms of just being a motor, turning a shaft, in terms of percentage efficiency? For instance, how does it compare with 1.614 that I got from using a 3 hp WEG 480 volt motor capacitor tuning circuit, in series, and driving a load off of that circiit.I have never harnessed the torque aspect of an RV before, to actually drive machinery, and checked the efficiency. Now permanent magnet motors, like the tread mill type, I run those all the time, at any speeds I like, using Variacs and bridge rectifiers. They are pretty efficient, bit I can't recall the numbers. My drill press on the boat runs on 300 watts and can't be stalled using a 1/3 hp dc motor, inverter, vaiac plus bridge rectifier. To loop we need quite a number of ducks in a row. Driver motor, generator, some time storing aspect perhaps, as in capacitors. It sure helps to know just where your energy differential is being harvested from, above the the line in the positive ,below, in the negative, or split between, as in AC.My daisy chain dc motor experiment put out gobs of power, but did not like to run itself one little bit on that lovely power, when directed back into the prime mover.Remember? It fried a whole bunch of the bridge rectifiers, rather violently, like a high voltage dead short.Gary's device seems nice and compact, and might be really practical, once the bugs are worked out.Let us wait til the glue dries!Cheers Warren Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Mon, 21 Jan 2019 at 7:08 AM, [email protected] [EVGRAY]<[email protected]> wrote: Hi Warren Unless you have a good Variable Frequency Drive instead of the 60hz grid or 60hz invertor, you are pretty much stuck to 1800 or 3600rpms to a rotovertor motor so unless you have a VFD a rotovertor wouldn't be much good to find the delayed Lenz effect in various permanent magnet rotored motors working as generators. PM dc motors can be rewired to WYE from its customary DELTA wiring and a second set of brushes used to Recover the reverse pulse into a capacitor across a diode bridge. simply you cut one wire segments from the brushes that have 2 wires in delta in one direction and solder into a wire ring ( any number of brushes ) with no self shunting will work ou ..... at X speed (sweet spot) not the first time i post this , and still no one had commented on it .... its so fucking simple to experiment with a dc 12v car PM dc motor . the hardest part will be to place extra set of collector brushes but is not so hard as building a wachumacallit little school brat toy motor ! (H) PS why not stop going back to the bullshit toys ? ---In [email protected], <schoonersolsticemoon@...> wrote : Doug If we are experimenting to find a speed, nothing is easier than a dc motor run by a variac. Once the magic sweet rpm is found, it is fairly simple to note that rpm and then with pulleys and belts use a fixed rpm ac motor. Now my question concerns the RV running as a motor. It takes a certain horse power to turn the generator shaft at a speed, even without a load on the generator, and friction with belts and pulleys. What I am curious about is delivering that specific load, with whatever device, and comparing an RV driving that load at a certain draw, and for instance a permanent magnet motor draw for that same load, comparing them with numbers indicating relative efficiencies. I told you how I have run my drill press on the boat using 12 volts and a weenie 300 watt inverter that I have never blown the breaker on, even drilling 1" holes in stainless plate! The little belt on the drill press may slip, but that motor doesn't even know there is a load , hardly. It is a very practical system to use involving a 5 amp Variac run by the 300 watt inverter (120 v 60hz) and a bridge rectifier, a double pole, double throw, switch, and to the motor. I change the speeds with either the belt, or the knob on the Variac, using the drill press for everything from router, using carbide cutters, for aluminium, or teak, using vertical milling cutters, and cross slide vise for cast iron machining, high speeds with wire brushes for polishing metal, or grinding with grind stones, rotary files etc. Oh, and I also drill holes with it. 300 watts does it just fine for everything, using a cheap Taiwanese cast iron drill press, that was under $100, with the ac motor changed for a permanent magnet Dayton 5/8" shaft ordinary dc motor of perhaps 90 volts nominal used for computer tape drives, and bought for scrap. I have lots of unemployed RV motors too. I am curious to get this right, and sort out what is making the magic. DougIf we are experimenting to find a speed, nothing is easier than a dc motor run by a variac.Once the magic sweet rpm is found, it is fairly simple to note that rpm and then with pulleys and belts use a fixed rpm ac motor. Now my question concerns the RV running as a motor. It takes a certain horse power to turn the generator shaft at a speed, even without a load on the generator, and friction with belts and pulleys. What I am curious about is delivering that specific load, with whatever device, and comparing an RV driving that load at a certain draw, and for instance a permanent magnet motor draw for that same load, comparing them with numbers indicating relative efficiencies.I told you how I have run my drill press on the boat using 12 volts and a weenie 300 watt inverter that I have never blown the breaker on, even drilling 1" holes in stainless plate! The little belt on the drill press may slip, but that motor doesn't even know there is a load , hardly. It is a very practical system to use involving a 5 amp Variac run by the 300 watt inverter (120 v 60hz) and a bridge rectifier, a double pole, double throw, switch, and to the motor.I change the speeds with either the belt, or the knob on the Variac, using the drill press for everything from router, using carbide cutters, for aluminium, or teak, using vertical milling cutters, and cross slide vise for cast iron machining, high speeds with wire brushes for polishing metal, or grinding with grind stones, rotary files etc.Oh, and I also drill holes with it.300 watts does it just fine for everything, using a cheap Taiwanese cast iron drill press, that was under $100, with the ac motor changed for a permanent magnet Dayton 5/8" shaft ordinary dc motor of perhaps 90 volts nominal used for computer tape drives, and bought for scrap.I have lots of unemployed RV motors too.I am curious to get this right, and sort out what is making the magic.Cheers Warren Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Tue, 22 Jan 2019 at 7:34 AM, [email protected] [EVGRAY]<[email protected]> wrote: Hi Warren Not trying to confuse., just saying any sort of prime mover motor could be used IF your generators are no lenz..... HectorJust before you again, skip off, into silence, I have asked you questions regarding this, you never responded to.I have some interesting dc motors that have double commutators, and brushes. The commutators have a lot of segments on each. They share the same set of four magnets, but there are brushes coming out either end.I have been able to wire them in series and also parallel for more amperage or more voltage. You are suggesting a whole new game with using these motors.I'll fish one out, and take some pictures, to see what you can make of it. This might be a ready made magical motor.
