Unless you have a good Variable  Frequency Drive instead of the 60hz grid or 60hz invertor, you are pretty much stuck to 1800 or 3600rpms to a rotovertor motor so unless you have a VFD a rotovertor wouldn't be much good to find the delayed Lenz effect in various permanent magnet rotored  motors working as generators. However once you do find the rpm sweet spot window to some sort of stepper or muller or your golden motpr,  now it's simple work to step up rpms to that rpm window using proper sized pulleys and belts...and use the rotovertor more now as primemover, and now adjust run cap if to give the rotovertor motor sone torque to the shaft.
