Hi DougWelcome back!I was given a nice washing machine motor a few years back, which is like those shown in the link.It was so easy to obtain stuff living in a city of 6 million, such as Toronto, simply walking around the block, walking the dog. Micro waves, and washing machines sit out front of people's houses, for the scrappers to pick up for free, as junk.Out here in the country, not so much, so far. I am 4 hours drive from my old haunts now.Fortunately, I took as much of my stuff, from Toronto, as could fit in four, five ton moving trucks. There is still more to come, after almost a year.There is plenty of space here, providing I can get roofs on before the snow flies.How is your situation in Seattle, so far?Getting on with the looper, I have the flywheel setup with a 90lb flywheel on a steel stand, in good bearings, able to take any motor, and drive any generator, with a broad selection of v belts, and pulleys.( I prefer the Browning type system of hub and pulley attachment with tapered keyed hubs, that change very easy, off, and on, shafts.)The washing machine motor I have, has the fine ribbed type belt, pulley.I am hot to trot on this, as Winter is coming, and wow! That propane is expensive here.I have an air to liquid heat pump on the way from Winnepeg, that uses 220 volts at 10 amps for power.The heated floor is in place with all the tubing cast in 5 inches of concrete, set on 3 " of urethane foam. It sure would be nice to test out a system this winter.Of course, I am running an underground cable with a 100 amp service from the grid, becsause I am not sure if I can get all my ducks in a row before the snow flies here. The heat pump will be in even if I have to have plywood for windows, and doors.Quite an upgrade for a barn, built around 1840!Cheers Warren

Simply find that rpm window where these motors with rotating magnet rotors will speed up under loading and not brake from lenz law...it might be just 200rpm window such as not under 2000rpm but not under 2200rpm you need to test this and find it using speed controller on that prime mover....not such a big deal eh..Gary mentioned spilitting the 3ph fields of the BLDC motors into three separate fields I will guess this is for the pulsing and timing sequencing using hall effects to time but not sure maybe he was talking about the prime mover pancake washing machine motor having this done to it, not sure about all this but whole concept and working model seems very doable and the looper on yacht now seems 100% legitimate to me...

Look oin youtube  Don Smith #187 for Gary's duplication confusing video however he might have some newer ones.,...Tim the looper builder who sold it to yacht owner had some youtuve videos up but I cant access them maybe later I can...both these guys open source both not too paranoid too so its all good will keep posting don't worry

What are the parts on the second LC, not familiar with that schematic
part.  Are they a pair of core inductors installed counter wind?

What is the motor on the smithy lathe AC or DC servo?

HectorThank you!As hard as it is for me to follow what you are sending, I think I get it, a little, at least enough to give it a try.If I understand it, it is not so very different from the Rotorverter, that I have done already, except it is using a three phase transformer, with transformers on the cap series, but unusually, on the unused phase, so far.The rectifiers, of course, and inverters. How subtle, your capacitor. This is the fine graduated decade tuning box?The beauty of the transformer, perhaps, can be the elimination of the start capacitor, making switch on, less of an ordeal, eliminating a step, plus, there must be some advantage not rotating machinery, with inertia, and friction.Do I have a clue, or am I still lost in a Gray fog.Cheers Warren

I did manage to run one RV off the series transformer from the cap circuit of the other. That required a bit of tricky switching to get everything up to running speed as I can't start my RV with any load, and needing the full blast of the starting capacitor, as usual, in both motors, plus tuning, one, right after another.
 How do you drive your RV  to drive a generator? What voltage do you suggest? I used a 12 volt to 120 volt pair of inverters for the earlier tests. I did manage to get a cheap 12 to 250 volt inverter on the net, as many European projects with success, seemed to use 250 volts, so I wanted to have the means to try a replication, on hand, should something interesting come up. I'm OK got apartment with wife outside of Seattle now...she has green card too...we are 5 minutes from my old workshop and lab....have not had internet for awhile just got it going..
 
I will keep everyone posted on the Gary P duplication of Tim's looper which Tim sold to guy on yacht in S America....All I know is the looper was wash machine pancake motor of older type, that had only 18 coils.....I think any of these sorts of motors will work as prime mover.
 
Use hall effects to time it and build or buy some sort of variable speed controller.
 
Connect this to a flywheel, spin it fairly slow but step up rpms to the BLDC motors working as generators  with automotive belts (not toothed timing belts but regular slotted flat belts like for waterpump and alternators)
 
Simply find that rpm window where these motors with rotating magnet rotors will speed up under loading and not brake from lenz law...it might be just 200rpm window such as not under 2000rpm but not under 2200rpm you need to test this and find it using speed controller on that prime mover....not such a big deal eh..Gary mentioned spilitting the 3ph fields of the BLDC motors into three separate fields I will guess this is for the pulsing and timing sequencing using hall effects to time but not sure maybe he was talking about the prime mover pancake washing machine motor having this done to it, not sure about all this but whole concept and working model seems very doable and the looper on yacht now seems 100% legitimate to me...
 
So the looper had two BLDC motors, I do not know their model numbers or brands....Gary just belted 4 motors to his flywheel spun by wash machine pancake motor (some Samsung model all I know now) I really don't think it matters if fisher and paykel or Samsung or LG or maytag or whatever....these are great off shelf motors with lots of torque for very little input...
 
Look oin youtube  Don Smith #187 for Gary's duplication confusing video however he might have some newer ones.,...Tim the looper builder who sold it to yacht owner had some youtuve videos up but I cant access them maybe later I can...both these guys open source both not too paranoid too so its all good will keep posting don't worry
