I've played around with rvs the only problem is they have no torque. You can't get any power to do anything with. All I'm trying to do is spin an aluminum disk with magnets in it and create eddy currents in a copper pipe. I even went to 240v like Kone suggested and it helped but still can't get the pipe close without slowing it down. It has no balls.

For more torque out of RV motor you must use greater UF value in the run caps 
For.example at idle 10uf might give lowest draw but when you want shaft to spin something that needs torque then go to 35uf or so just as example.
Also speed up motor with VFD.then belt down for more torque

TroisForget it is a motor. It just happens to turn.What you really have is the ac in series with the capacitors. I was able to get another three hp RV to run off this. Well now, I had two pretty useless motors turning, doing nothing, an interesting experiment, but not practical.When I used that series with the capacitors, to run a transformer, that seemed to work like a normal transformer.Taking it down to about 13 volts, I then put a bridge rectifier on it. Now I had DC, of course.On the input side, I got a 12 volt lead acid battery of 5 amps, and plugged in a 125 watt inverter, while the RV was running at 1800 rpm off the mains, using a double pole, double throw switch, I switched from mains to battery. It ran just the same at 1800 rpm.Searching around my workshop, I looked for a 12 volt load, and found a 12 volt electric trolling motor for a dinghy, so I used that.With a meter on the little battery, I was drawing 1.5 amps.With the meter on the trolling motor, I was drawing 2.5 amps also at 12 voltsThat was a neat and tidy experiment that could be repeated, and certainly run for half an hour, or more, with no problems, on the little battery, which started out with a full charge.While playing around with this, there was yet some more taps on that multitap transformer.This transformer was sold at hardware stores as a generic transformer to do what ever voltages that customers needed, such as run thermostats for furnaces, door bells etc.I was able to run a Rene charger off the 20 volt tap with no addition load.With the Rene charger, you can charge a whole string of 12 volt batteriesCheers Warren

 Can you provide some insight as to the difference of charging batteries with the Bedini spinning wheel charger you made from the wheelhouse wheel and the solid state Rene?
 

 Was the Rene dumping flyback into the batts or was the flyback energy put through a cap prior to the battery?

MickNo real comparison was done since with the Bedini I was charging as many as 12 deep cycle six volt batteries,while the Rene has only been used to charge a stack of 5 amp 12 volt batteries.The Rene seems to work the same as the Bedini, except it is super compact, with no moving partsCheers Warren

This is the way the circuit should be for pure back "EMF only" charging. This is what I use to charge all my AA, AAA and 9 volt batteries. No forward DC pulse with current, as in Rene's circuit. I need a large Toroidal Ferrite core to try this on large 6 or 12 VDC flooded batteries. Haven't tried that yet. But for small batteries, this has worked perfectly, batteries remain cold, and brings back almost all dead alcalines, Ni-Mh and NiCads. It's basically a joule thief but instead of taking the output from collector and emitter, as it's usually done to light LEDs, I take the output from the high spike collapsing coil.

The input power supply is a 5VDC wall power supply. The measured output voltage  across the coil is around  73 VDC, measured without charging  battery and from collector to anode of diode and a temporary cap so it can be measured correctly due to high frequency. Frequency varies from 15 Khz to around 150 Khz  or more, depending on the bias. Transistor is a standard NE-3055

Hi Karl,

At 73V across the coil added to the 5V supply voltage minus the diode forward conduction drop of around .7V the transistor CE probably breaks down if NE-3055 is the same as 2N3055. This transistor has a CE breakdown voltage with no base current of 60V according to the datasheet: http://www.onsemi.com/pub/Collateral/2N3055-D.PDF http://www.onsemi.com/pub/Collateral/2N3055-D.PDF.

This simple inverter (flyback converter) is basically a constant current generator. The output voltage is limited by the breakdown voltage of the transistor and the parasitic capacitance of the coil. There is nothing preventing the circuit from overcharging the battery.

 Warren also reported that his marina-friends would keep bringing the batteries back after running them down and they charged up better than they had ever seen before....

Thanks for the explanation Kone on the chargers.  Batteries love that
flyback energy and can apparently supply more current faster once
conditioned this way.  I have heard once conditioned to the flyback
after about 10 or so charge discharge cycles they can become very hard
to use with a conventional charger for awhile as they have to be
conditioned back to normal if one wishes to use with forward current.

Maybe the Rene allows the batteries to remain somewhat normal and not go
totally flyback conditioned, therefore less volume of current avail but
better compatibility.

Size of coil and core influence the fly back pulse strength along with
the length the core goes beyond the coil in order to act as a B field
antenna.  Try a short piece of rebar core compare to a long one for
shits and giggles.

The 3055 can't take back spikes very well .you guy try the no acid battery
yet .they use Epson salts and dump out the acid and rinse out the battery
and then use something else ?I think bicarb ? I'll go look it up but the
point is you can get big dead batteries and convert to this type .it's a
little lower voltage but you can run them dead with no harm .should last
for ever no acid is no sulfate crystals busting up your plates and no
destroyed shirts .just a little less voltage but all amps . I have several
I'm going to try some fail but if you get a good one its good for life . I
like the no fracking acid part .

The 73 volts is measured open circuit  across the coil from collector to top of coil. Not from top of coil to base of transistor.

DougI would agree the Bedini is superior.My wheel is only a one coiler, though has been constructed to mount 18.John, and Rick, liked the idea, and pushed it further along, building themselves some multi coilers.Mine was only intended as an experimental piece of apparatus, but ended up being very useful. and practical, except for the fact the whole unit is 4' in diameter, and as a consequence not too portable. An interesting side note is that shaft. was made as a power take off, to use some of the pulse motor energy, being such a large stainless steel wheel.It is curious what such a motor might do with 18 coils, in addition to charging every battery you could lay your hands on?
It survived the move, I believe, and is still packed up in one of the sheds.Cheers Warren

"The 73 volts is measured open circuit  across the coil from collector to top of coil. Not from top of coil to base of transistor."
Then from 0V (emitter) to collector is the voltage across the coil (73V) plus the voltage across the voltage supply (5V) minus the voltage across the rectifying diode.

If the peak voltage is a smooth half sine wave (bottom up parable) the transistor doesn't go into avalanche mode. Then it's the parasitic capacitance of the coil that limits the peak voltage.

If a higher flyback voltage is wanted a high voltage transistor like the ones used to drive the flyback transformer in old CRT screens could be used. Some of these have breakdown voltages above 1kV like the BU208 http://www.alltronics.com/mas_assets/acrobat/BU208A.pdf or BU508 http://pdf.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets/savantic/787.pdf. The flyback voltage were further stepped up by using a high tension secondary winding on the flyback transformer and then feeding a voltage tripler http://www.interfacebus.com/Glossary-of-Terms-Voltage-Quadrupler.html to reach the extremely high tension for accelerating the electron beam. When using a step up winding this down transforms the current at the same ratio as the voltage step up ratio. The peak current of the flyback pulse is the current reached when breaking the input cycle assuming no secondary winding is used.

This simple inverter (flyback converter) is basically a constant current generator. The output voltage is limited by the breakdown voltage of the transistor and the parasitic capacitance of the coil. There is nothing preventing the circuit from overcharging the battery.

 Perhaps with a rene charger you can find a very particular charging cycle for particular batteries in how far to deplete until charge cycle, and how high to charge during charge cycle where a rene charger will work overunity via comparison of watts to charge over time  vs watts to run load over time...
 

 So, I would say  Bedini wheel is superior especially from the very believable reports Warren did of charging every battery from just about everyone in his marina one winter....he ran his bedini wheel on a small 7AH 12V battery (4AH?) that he only needed to charge back up once a week and this took only a couple hours,  and during that week, he managed to charge up many big marine batteries (that all do serious work in people's boats)...it seems to be way overunity, and very practical for of overunity too.
 Warren also reported that his marina-friends would keep bringing the batteries back after running them down and they charged up better than they had ever seen before....

Yes, indeed, Ole. 
 That would be perfect for charging large  batteries. The circuit I have, works perfectly good for up to  9V small batteries and does it's magic on watch batteries.
 Yesterday, I recharged 2 watch batteries that had been in a closet inside the watches for over 10 years! 
 They were completely dead.
 Both watches are now up and running and batteries were measuring way over  1.6V after removing them from charger, which were charging for a period of  2+ hours. 
 I really want to do the higher voltage circuit. Time is my main obstacle now (work)

Seiko SR927W, silver oxide battery on the Seiko watch. The other watch, a Hamilton, I believe it's also a silver oxide battery.
 There are 20+ year old watches!
