NormanAnother luminous phenomena, I used to observe, was while sailing in the tropics.In my marine toilet installation, I used a clear vinyl intake hose from the sea cock to the head.When flushing the toilet, you manually pump water from the ocean, into the bowl.In the dark, this hose too, would light up rather spectacularly.This was attributed to plankton, able to phospheresce, when stimulated.On thinking of it, perhaps the interesting aspect may be the stimulation that the plankton felt?
Could it be electrical in nature, caused by the fluid cavitation?The plankton were supplying the light, but were responding to something.Propellers leave a trail in these tropical waters for quite a long time much like a vapour trail of a jet.It was a nasty problem for hidden U- boats, plying tropical waters, I bet.Cheers Warren

Supposedly Rene Quinton was injecting this water with the belief it was zooplankton urine.
The French also used it in the trenches via colloidal silver the English were using.
When found it is usually good fishing as it attracts all marine life.

Warren, when I retired in Dallas and moved to South Louisiana and began 
Salt Water fishing (a switch from the fresh water fishing I grew up with 
in Alexandria, LA.) I started studying all the Coastal species and was 
especially interested in Crabs and Shrimp, my favorite sea food. I 
wanted to know how and why shrimp fluoresce and their eyes glow.  Sort 
of like studying Electric Eels.  Just think about how little we are able 
to perceive within the Electromagnetic Spectrum.  It is only a very, 
very narrow slit in all of the wavelengths.   There is so much going on 
all around us that we are totally unaware.  Enjoy!      Norm
