Good point about them planting incriminating evidence on our computer and charging us with a crime.  Very nasty thing to do but I'm sure they will do it if they think it is necessary.

I went air show in at airfield Seattle area that had that vintage British jet bomber there of the very interesting design..
..underneath it were large puddles of hydraulic oil sfill seeping out of its fuselage with single plastic bucket underneath not doing any good at all... nobody was around or seemed to care about it...then about a week later I read it has crashed and was not really too surprised about it.

DougWow! I wonder if it suffered a hydraulic control surface failure?It was just going impossibly slow, at a low altitude in front of the grand stand, I thought, showing off for the audience. We took the schooner out, and anchored behind the police line, for watching the air show.The Nimrod came over the lake, at absolute dead slow towards the grandstand viewing area, at a speed so slow, it looked impossible, for something so large, and close, to be in the air.Then it just dropped, like a bag of hammers, a bit tail down, into 60 feet of water. There was a plume of white water shooting a couple of hundred feet in the air, then silence.Nothing!I didn't notice any malfunctioning flaps, and may not have recognized anything amiss  if I had.Those poor crewmen, if it was a hydraulic failure. That was the last time I went to the air show. It was quite a few years ago, and I have had no desire to see something like that again....for what?Cheers Warren

Yes I was shocked at the condition the big old jet bird was in I walked right under it, hydraulic fluid dripping everywhere I was hoping they were not going to try and  fly the thing  at least anywhere near spectators...I wanted to talk to someone about it but no one was around to complain to.
I was hoping it was  here to be put in museum as there are some great  flight museums in Seattle where yout can see the SR 71,  ww2 and ww1 fighters andbombers there is a volunteer group who give rides in restoredtboeing B17s during the summer few times a week you can hear them coming miles away

DougThat is a heart break.I think the pilot knew the bird was going down, and was avoiding the grand stand, and people on shore, as much as he had control to do so.It is gross that it was allowed to fly, leaking hydraulic fluid like that.I know from my machinery, how powerless one gets, when the hydraulic fluid, runs out.I have no idea what the hydraulics were controlling, on that plane, but at slow speeds, everything matters, to prevent a stall.It didn't even float for a moment.It was like a concrete block. No debris on the surface, nothing after the splash dissipatedNo survivors, of the six crew.Cheers Warren
