My little experiment charging caps from pancake coils.  A couple
interesting developments:

1  Don Smith was right, the cable thickness provides more potential
current.  Using the zip cord pancake L2 as a pickup above the induction
cooker coil L1.  This is a 15 foot coil which can be connected in
bi-filar or normal pancake or double normal pancake.  Even with a very
low current circuit using both sides of the zip cord charges caps much
faster than a single side and the single pancake faster than the
bi-filar which is higher voltage but lower current.  would be a good
idea to try with a bifilar the same length as the single pancake.  I
realize this is a simple assumption as the pair of cables could have a
lower ESR and capacitive reactance rather than the single terminal, so
more experiments are in order.

2.  Connecting a single ground wire in the proper place in the circuit
provided a voltage gain from 450 to 506v, have a feeling when voltage
gets much higher so will the gain.  Noticed the longitudinal signature
almost by accident as a small loop of magnet wire connected to an LED,
the LED gave a faint glow when I connected th.e earth to the proper place.

Using DC so position of the coils is important, fastest charging appears
when positive is shot into the center to the outside and diode in L2 is
same polarity and center to outside.


Anyone working on Smith devices I suggest one uses a LED with a loop to
indicate when the magnetic wave is available.

If you now make a pancake coil identical to the secondary but reverse the
winding direction according to don your amps will go up but connect the
ground at the common junction between the two and pull from the other two
ends .should increase Watts .according to Don's system .
