I am trying to build power unit that runs off of heat like the refrigerator in some campers I have a large wood burning heater that heats my water for radiant tubing and my shower water it has a very thick wall pipe running through it to heat the Freon then a metering valve. I should mention it has a one way valve before it goes in to the heater. It will heat the Freon creating a lot of pressure it then goes through the metering valve for regulating the drive motor. From drive motor to oil separator to expansion chamber to cool it down then out through copper tubing running through the back yard. Then back to heater. It will have a bypass valve and pop off valves for safety
The part I’m not sure about is how I should build the expansion chamber I will want to run at least two evaporates for some cool in the house but that is an after though The main thing is it runs a generator. To clarify. A little more my drive motor is a power steering pump off of a Peterbilt I used to have. An air starter might be better but most of those you can’t plumb out of they just bleed their air off to the atmosphere. I push about 30 psi. Through this power steering pump at the pressure port it was strong enough to wear good little hole in my tennis shoe when I tried to hold it down. Any thoughts or comments would be welcome best regards mike

Just using butane is good with a solar pond of salt water you can run at
night like that .and direct from solar copper tubing in the day. A double
action steam engine works well .I forgot the name right now but was
recommended by a engineer retired it would work better if your near water
for cooling . you might use ionic wind for cooling .good luck

MikeYou are very creative in terms of using the hydraulic pressure to try to drive something as well as explore an alternative heat driven refrigeration pumping system. Those camper units that run off propane or even kerosine wick burners use ammonia based refrigerants, in most cases. It is not a path often travelledI have used hydraulic motors for various uses, running a scuba tank compressor, a generator, and an anchor winch, all of which, I built myself. Some makes of pumps can also be motors, depending whether they are driving,, or driven, much the same as permanent magnet dc motorsThe big issue is compatibility of seals, torque required, and a big failure of hydraulic motors, maximumum speed.
There are high speed hydraulic motors, but they are not all that common.Cheers Warren
