PoppsI have a little 2.5 kw generator with a 3/4" shaft able to generate 240 volts, or 120 volts, single phase. Can that be a start for your project?Cheers Warren

Gee Warren don't go pissing him off with nervous questions . just wait the
more time you take up means the longer till he gets to you . unpack a box
or something .

Popps,

Does your machine run without the grid or does it require attachment to the grid in order to correct the power factor?

 Thanks,
 Mick

My machine use standard generator 4 pole 1500 rpm-Bosh with AVR.
No matter what power you choose!
No need grid!

That's cool Popps, maybe hack the AVR do you get rid of the freewheeling
diode?

Do you rectify the output of the generator or let it remain some type of AC?

Since you have to tune it to resonance each time if one desired to
supply the grid for some extra credit does that require the purchase of
extra equipment such as a grid tie inverter in order the energy is phase
and frequency synced to the grid?

Hi Mick

Noo..output is unchanged-pure ac sine wave from the synchronous
alternator at his factory speed. In this case 1500 rpm.

PopsI am busy insulating the roof, with foam, and digging the floor up to put foam down there too in this 150 year old stone barn. The stone barn will be my new workshop, and hopefully heated in the winter. I am putting plastic tubing in a cast concrete floor to make it a large heated mass. If nothing more, at least I hope to keep the floor above freezing this next winter, using a heat pump.Last winter, it was brutally cold at -37 C and not possible to do any machining work in there, except in brief spurts, at a drill press. The big post and beam wooden barn is coming along well, having repaired the foundation stone walls, and now repairing or replacing the posts and beams as needed. This should provide a good large space for any projects, plus a South facing roof with solar panels. This whole project, is for research, and testing, at least, in my imagination.I have never had the luxury of project space like this, when living in down town Toronto.I was incredibly lucky to convince a Harbour Commission man, to allow me a space, to build a sailing schooner, on a weed covered patch, of unused harbour land, back in the 1970's, free, for almost seven years, out in the open, 2.5 m from the water.I could have never even imagined such a space as this, to be able to work in.Having testing facilities, is a blessing for any of us, having worked on the kitchen table, cramped basement, and having to move setups, because there is greater need for that space, by others.Pops, I hope to be able to set up a working model system, so that it can demonstrate the concept, that we all can be free of the energy lords.I have confidence in my abilities to communicate the results, to a wider audience, when the time comes.I am hardly surprised that resonance is an inportant factor. I sure like analog controls, if they can be made to work, somehow. Turn a knob, and tune it, not that I am so clever at it, but it seems to suit me.Cheers Warren

Popps,

Did you design your machine based on something you saw at Hectors or is it different?

I guess you got lucky and Hector invited you to visit.

Do you plan on licensing others to build your design?

Hi Mick

Design is different but resonance is common on any design.
Yes i will licence everyone but on my terms and condition(one on one).
