 I'll bite, I want to try the genset experiment.  First is aquiring the gen head.  The place you mentioned Central Georgia Generator seems to be units made in China.  Have to save up a bit first but should be able to find a decent feild coil head without too much trouble.
 

 The four pole design with two sets of brushes, do you think this version is the easier to turn into something serious >1PF vs the same 4 pole 7.5k in  brushless?
 

 Notwithstanding the higher cost of brushless are the brushed easier to mod?

I posted about that, the original papers eons ago , and that was suppressed to the hilt , its related to the EV Gray "tube" 
if you are into nuclear physics and got a doctorate & millions of dollars you can play with that , else "forget it"   \

HectorI always wondered why the carbon was used in the Gray tubeI made mine as accuratly and faithfully to the plans as possible using the central core from a cheap carbon zinc battery. The other strange things were the silver electrode ends, a good conducting metal, but....., I did that too, as per design. I did find it passed electrons or voltage to the shield, but well, nothing magical.I had no idea what role these elements played but as I was only in the mode of being a replicator, trying to see the magic.Cheers Warren

Replicating a thing mostly is no problem, but tuning it , there is where you get balls in boiling water ...., a wire turn . overall mass of a part , the intrinsically complex character of all parts combined into a nightmare of tolerances & specifications ,,, that wire position or the composition of the screws you used to hold a transformer laminate & the such takes you to WTF? if i did everything and it still does not work scenario, i got a new boat anchor , work of art, conversation piece or door holder , or a behemoth of a paper weight for the office table ....LOL !

I once did a vander-graft generator to research why the design did not work for other people , mine worked & the others simply did not generate one volt

after changing several static balls i found the culprit  The paint!( contained titanium dioxide powder ) no way to raise  a volt with that electron dissipative  compound ( NO way ! )   it fucks up also tesla coils  so its stainless steel no paint if you want it to work .. its the details that fry the goose ..

 I made mine as accuratly and faithfully to the plans as possible using the central core from a cheap carbon zinc battery. The other strange things were the silver electrode ends, a good conducting metal, but....., I did that too, as per design. I did find it passed electrons or voltage to the shield, but well, nothing magical.
 I had no idea what role these elements played but as I was only in the mode of being a replicator, trying to see the magic.
