I think mine is 2 kw, but then again, the cast aluminium fan shroud on the generator looks the same, with those perforation patterns.

I will need to make most of the parts for regulation I would guess, being that old of vintage.
The 1800 rpm is very close to acceptable Samsung motor speed.
I have some homework to do, now, to figure this all out.
I wonder if parts could still be available?

Eduardo Sadly, the plate if any, was on the gas engine. I only know it was a Fairbanks Morse which was very heavily built, using their own engine, which for any company, is unusual.
It seemed to be for continuous duty, but there is no indication when it was made, or what model.
It could have even been war time WW11 vintage except for the paint.

A generator for DC, rather than an alternator producing AC and rectified to DC, just spits out DC. The DC slip ring is usually segmented to flip the fields.

It was direct coupled to a gas engine. I have installed a stub shaft, and a bearing to support the engine end, as the that bearing support was the engine bearing.
It seems pretty good for my purposes if I only can figure out how to make it go.
An interesting feature about it is that it has an electric starter function to turn the generator into a motor for starting the gas engine it used to be connected to.
Bart, do you remember that 4 cylinder gas generator I gave you?
This is likely about a similar vintage, only, this is just a couple of KW, I'm hoping will do the job.
If anybody can remember pre-diode times I would sure be grateful.
How would the voltage regulation work?
