Hi Ole. I can't read the doc from you'r link, i can't download it ... but i understand how they got this numbers .. like 47%.
Theoreticaly the railgun can achive something around 50 - 60% of efficiency ... but not practicaly .. to get this efficiency .. you need dramaticaly to increase the lingh .. and mass of rails .. amd in the same time to keep the leakage inductance of rails and omhic resistance as low as possible. In reality it is not realizable, it is a dead-end task. I'll be cuirose to see some video aprovment's of this railgun with this level of efficiency.
And the next thing is that ... the rails become burned out just after few shoots .. so .. you can't make 100 shoots in exmaple .. without of changing of rails.
I prupose that numbers in this doc's .. are for getting a budget .. and are far away from reality

Anyway, my system is more better, and I can prove it. It can achive efficiency up to 90%, with no velocity limit's ( up to 13km/s - practicaly), it is mooooore compact, and it's multishoot .. so i can build an fully automatic gun with fire rate at the level of fire handguns, no problem.
