DougI hope you can see the simple apparatus and arrangement I put together to try to find that sweet spot on the rpm range on my other email.The rpm was quite high compared to any bicycle wheel speeds, one could ever reach.I may well of travelled through the correct speed ande not known it since I was just doing a machinery check out. In storage, snow had gotten into the golden motor and it was seized up, so I had to take it apart, clean it, lube it, and put it back together.I thought I better check it out today doing a full speed run using a little load, a 40 watt incandescent  light bulb, and see how fast it could go.
The range is good but needs a bigger variac, like my 30 amp, that I never consider load with, until I have to carry it across the barn yard in the snow.I have learned my lesson not to be lazy.Cheers Warren
