Very interesting, you explained a lot here.  Do you recall, if the three
coils all wound in the same direction and how are they connected series
or parallel or first two parallel then third series? 

Would be cool to see a schematic of the inside...

I imagine if the RPM is just right when the magnet is in the right place
as the LC tank cancels the power multiplication is enormous.  If the
points were adjusted wrong timing wise did they sometimes vaporize?

I was not aware the old design was so cutting edge now that we are on to
solar flare dynamo theory.  It seems more and more in order to go
forward we must first look far back.
