Bit off topic for sure but just got a message via EF that Doc Stiffler has passed on. Not sure if any of you have been following his work at all. Interesting stuff but I have had other apples to fry to get into it.

Warren, when I had one of my pancakes up and running, it would light house bulbs so was much afraid of the output. Rewired it down to lower voltages. Sure had a bad back drag to it tho. Was looking at using a large RC controller for it but has to be the sensor-less type if you do. Either way, one hell of a good motor. Lots of torque. Saw one used on a gocart and 48V

those all the time, at any speeds I like, using Variacs and

drill press on the boat runs on 300 watts and can't be
stalled using a 1/3 hp dc motor, inverter, vaiac plus
bridge rectifier.To
loop we need quite a number of ducks in a row. Driver motor,
generator, some time storing aspect perhaps, as in
capacitors.It
sure helps to know just where your energy differential is
being harvested from, above the the line in the positive
,below, in the negative, or split between, as in
AC.My
daisy chain dc motor experiment put out gobs of power, but
did not like to run itself one little bit on that lovely
power, when directed back into the prime mover.Remember?
It fried a whole bunch of the bridge rectifiers, rather
violently, like a high voltage dead short.Gary's
device seems nice and compact, and might be really
practical, once the bugs are worked out.Let

Unless you have a good Variable Frequency Drive instead of
the 60hz grid or 60hz invertor, you are pretty much stuck to
1800 or 3600rpms to a rotovertor motor so unless you have a
VFD a rotovertor wouldn't be much good to find the
delayed Lenz effect in various permanent magnet rotored
motors working as generators. However once you do find the
rpm sweet spot window to some sort of stepper or muller or
your golden motpr, now it's simple work to step up rpms
to that rpm window using proper sized pulleys and
belts...and use the rotovertor more now as primemover, and
now adjust run cap if to give the rotovertor motor sone
torque to the shaft.
