Bart,

The posting I put up from Howard Johnson where he and someone else used
a hall sensor on some type of CNC mutiposition platform hooked to a
puter and mapped the flux lines around magnets is amazing.  We have been
reading books for years only based on the flawed iron filing flux
paths!  One of his inventions is a flux gate where he makes a rectangle
of mags and places a rubber mag on one side to block the other pole.
