Hi MickI built a very good Kromery, I believe, but have never noticed the cold temperature effect.I did not, however, do any measurements other than multimeter, that I had at that time.I always wanted to put it on a scope.I now have a scope, laser point and shoot thermometer, and very soon a lab/ studio with in floor heating and electricity. Right now there is a very greedy wood stove to keep the stone walls from sucking the heat out of my bones.This weekend promises to have the final heat pump check out connection, and test.The ancient stone walls are interesting. For a few days, after burning with the stove, I let the fire go out. Although it was bitter outside, the building was still comfortable inside.It acts like a heat capacitor.Our house is stone as well, with three foot thick walls.We have a fancy thermostat that was controlling the heat from the propane furnace. We were trying, to be economical, cutting down the heat at night, but going through the gas, feeling chilly with the furnace running, and the upstairs cold.The real trick is letting the house stay at an even temperature day, and night, and the gas bill drops, the place is warm and cozy.The furnace rarely comes on now, and only briefly.In my studio, where we removed 45 tons of stone from under the floor, I lost sleep trying to determine why the ancients put it there?I think I now know. They kept a couple of carriage horses there, with a hay loft above. By feeding the horses hay, they kept alive and warm, giving off heat. The stone floor, and two foot thick walls would retain that heat, radiating it into the interior space, but not to the outside, so much, as the heat transmission through the stone is very slow. We must remember cold does not travel. It is the absence of heat energy.We also must remember that people 170 years ago, were just as smart as we are, and likely working with a rich oral communication, where traditional solutions were carefully considered, hence, all that work moving boulders.Much knowledge came from stone masons employed by the British government, locally here, when they built the Rideau canal, assume, back in the 1820's. Many were paid in land grants around Kingston.I am still trying to find out the history of this place, as it is really old, from artifacts that I have found while repairing everything.Happy New Year, and let's all get our self runners up and running!Cheers Warren

It's interesting the idea of heat being part of a non dividable triad no matter which is primary or secondary.
Above or below the light constant impacting the heating or cooling, very interesting supposition!

In any of your experiments have you experienced extreme cooling to the point of frost?
I spoke to someone once who built the Kromrey device and said he could tune it tight enough to frost the coils of a nichrome resistance heater.
