Ole,
I don't see the shaft as being split in anyway to accommodate acting as
an induction rotor. I know that Dr Tesla designed motors no one could
figure out then they hired Proteus and he came up with the split
aluminum induction rotor for GE but I have never seen the single metal
Tesla rotor but then the egg of Colombus was not split but rotated based
on the lobed shape and asymmetric field across it's taper I assume.
Do you see a way the shaft can act as a rotor being solid and not split,
or did you view something I missed?
