Norm I have a big empty nitrogen tank
It is steel, just like oxygen cylinders, and for that matter, although a different shape, the compressed natural gas cylinder is also very heavy steel, rated at a working pressure of 3000 lbs/ sq inch, though they only fill them to 2500.
One of them might do for hydrogen, depending on the quantity needed.
I have plenty of smaller tanks, one capable of 4000 psi, but likely needs a hydrostat test.

I believe that the same cylinders used for nitrogen works for hydrogen! Due to molecule size it will leak through some metals!

I have a compressed natural gas bottle of very heavy construction, but it is steel.

James! Your mention the use of caps in the NV voltage divider instead of resistors is an interesting idea!

Here is the problem area to be addressed in conventional capacitor charging! http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/electric/capeng2.html http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/electric/capeng2.html
Lets take a look at HV electrostatic charging! Hypothetically lets take the Felici Electrostatic Generator (Example) and its 3KW output. See: http://www.webring.org/l/rd?ring=teslaring;id=1;url=http%3A%2F%2Fu2%2Elege%2Enet%2Fnewebmasters%2Ecom__freeenergy%2Fexternal_links_from_theverylastpageoftheinternet%2Ecom%2Fhighvoltage%2FHVgenerator%2FHVgenerator%2Ehtm http://www.webring.org/l/rd?ring=teslaring;id=1;url=http%3A%2F%2Fu2%2Elege%2Enet%2Fnewebmasters%2Ecom__freeenergy%2Fexternal_links_from_theverylastpageoftheinternet%2Ecom%2Fhighvoltage%2FHVgenerator%2FHVgenerator%2Ehtm

Also, a conventional Marx generator. See: https://www.instructables.com/id/12V-180kV-A-Battery-Powered-Marx-Generator-and-int/ https://www.instructables.com/id/12V-180kV-A-Battery-Powered-Marx-Generator-and-int/

 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marx_generator https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marx_generator

Ok! Guys, we have to think everything backwards here! With the Felici Electrostatic Generator we have a HV potential of an million volts and it outputs 3KW in useable power. As shown in the Marx generator example with 12VDC input and 180 KV battery powered unit lets play the game backwards. We have the HVDC already, so lets set up our voltage devider circuit so the we are in effect dividing back down to the lets say 13VDC to charge our batteries! Don't say it can't be done. This way we can use the HVDC electrostatic as our power source and utilize the output at any step down voltage we want. We already know that the Felici Electrostatic Generator is doing something very unusual in that it uses HIGH PRESSURE PURE HYDROGEN GAS as its working electrolyte or dielectric media. I contend that it is an Aetheric energy tapping device! Just think about this if you will! Norm

 James,
This is an interesting way of going about it, with high voltage often caps are used in voltage divider networks instead of resistors. Good idea!

The only problem is the larger caps are usually lower voltage else very expensive and the lower voltage caps can be damaged by the initial pulse prior to charge diffusion even though the voltage does go lower based on the larger farad capacity.

I would try dumping them in to much larger cap there by dropping the voltage way down say to 15.5 volts or 4 volt to dump into a lead battery or lithium .no transformer needed .

   Kone,

Once one has a way of charging caps reliably and quickly what is the
best way to make use of a bunch charged to 800v say?

What do you do with the output of your Konehead / Muller motors?

I guess one way would be to dump them into a buck converter then use for
charging a buffer battery or supercapacitor but what are some uses you
 have come up with?

I think the dream Norm had makes sense in that we should just be
powering everything off caps as there are multitudes of ways to
 efficiently charge these puppies.

How quickly conventional oil caps can be charged by influence machines
is another interesting query as these can be voltage limited with GDT's
so we don't blow up our run caps with more than 800v, suppose one could
have a long line of these charged quickly indeed?

Don't bother with electrolytic they truly suck and act as if there is a
load on the source so waste lots of energy and charge slowly. They may
be ok for lower voltage buffers one we have converted back to watts.
