Hi Mick & guys,
Thanks for the responses all.
Today I tried higher power levels at 50Hz with up to 42.8W input giving
just 18W output.
My inadequate florist wire windings with not enough layers quickly
saturate.... it could be better.

Just wanted to show Tesla's idea.... in a properly designed transformer it
seems very neat way to avoid Lenz effect.
The Lenz flux coming back from the secondary seems to rout itself around
the outside of the primary coil,
through the florist soft wire shield rather than back into the primary
coil itself (up to a point).

It seems a useful tool to have in our armoury & could help with other
designs bi toroidal Heinz Thane etc.
By shielding the input coil I mean.

Thanks for suggesting the approach Lutz if you're out there.
Gerry
