Have you ever tried using a small sphere or cylinder filled with
ferrofluid to collect the splatter?  I have noticed when ferrofluid is
used to cool tweeter coils its as if the notes last longer as it adds
that longitudinal dynamic.  This can be made from printer developer and
mineral oil.

BTW thanks for posting the video, interesting data.
