What you are speaking here about makes a lot of sense.Pancake coils are only a flip away from changing direction of wind, are they not?You may also have given some reason that my mysterious result that I got from doing a replication of Doug's DC motor diode experiment, I call the DC Motor Daisy ChainDiode trick, using a whole line of big DC permanent mag motors.That is one I want to repeat, as I think it is a keeper.You have pointed out the likely reason it works. I think the buzzer may be doing the same thing.Why not a line of buzzers in series with bridge rectifiers separating them? It would be cheaper than ten tread mill motors. Have nice big solenoids on those buzzers.Big Delco diesel starter motor solenoids? Ha, ha. Anybody have a case of those?Would it ever be a noisy contraption! Both audio and radio interferance, at once! Around 2004, I built Tesla's Disrupter Transformer and Re-worked on of my X-ray supply pot (60KV) by switching the diode array so that the the anode output was now negative output instead of positive to be used to drive the disrupt coil. I had a HVDC negative power supply at 60KV. I had a bank of capacitors to charge using the HVDC supply. I used a large DC long throw HV relay which I could fire at various pulse rates via mechanical insulated actuator. The 60KV caps came out of SLAC, Stanford Linear Accelerator Complex and I managed to get 60 of them at 2.5 MFD ea. I was discharging about 5 killo-Joules per pulse. The re-charge time of the cap bank dictated the rate of firing. By discharging the caps through the very powerful magnetic horn gap I got that unidirectional pure negative DC discharge which was a blue white fire and gave the physical shock wave that Tesla described in his experiments. Was an interesting experiment. I just wish I had found the page 25 info while I had my Lab. Sorry NO, I did not replicate Tesla's page 25 experiment!

Please re-read the page 25 from the Colorado Springs Notes, for Tesla laid out the fundamentals of how to pulse the earth with negative unidirectional longitudnal waves using a magnetic quenched discharge tube. Yes ! This was his magnetic rectifier via a rapidly quenched discharge tube. This is precisely how the Wardencliff system was going to work with the huge underground earthing grid. Sort of like Hector deep earth ball. His findings while experimenting with Telegraphy in 1899 allowed his ability to radiate pulses into the ground at .020 A or 20 milliamps at 200 VDC pulses (unidirectional with negative polarity). The elevated antennae terminal carried a positive charge. Tesla, the Master, left this vivid clue as to how your ground pulse approach should work. A cap will not charge with AC unless the waveform is highly asymmetric as each compression or rarefaction would need to be caught at 1/8 - 1/4 wavelength and disconnected to charge with conventional sine wave for instance. Otherwise as you say the charge is equalized with AC. Likely what you were noticing in your experiments as it creates very short DC pulses 1/8 to 1/4 of the wavelength so much higher harmonics than the fundamental.
High voltage DC in a high rise for instance could cause all sorts of interesting havoc charging up layered walls as capacitors for instance. With a pair of diodes and GDT's the cap will rise in voltage to destruction and the plasma explosions are deafening. First is a hissing as insulation breaks through and the sound of air escaping a punctured tire. As the air ionizes enough to conduct the voltage stored in the cap with jump with a huge flash and bang, very dangerous!
The spheres can be purchased inexpensively in China but shipping is another story. One could use a well I suppose but the danger of killing the well motor and having no water is a risk too high. Having enough trouble shutting down GFI's around here.

Someone told me Tesla uses to use sparkgaps to rectify HV all the time as no good HV diodes back then.
Also have noticed let's say filling AC cap with AC...when you disconnect charging of it then use cap to discharge to load there is usually nothing there like the forces cancel naturally l don't know
But if you rectify before filling cap now those joules and potential in there will "stick" and upon discharge you see a good blast of.power. I noticed same thing with my peak coil shorting stuff in that without diodes first to rectify there is nothing when ac cap discharges to a load...
Have you seen Hector's ground rod with large metal sphere capacitor ball in air? This would be interesting to try....maybe restaurant supply store has a couple giant mixing bowls you could put together for sphere...
I will look around for that circuit drawing and post it when I find it
