The way car ignition coil shoots out HV to chassis ground is.sort of similar when the ignition points open now include 2nd cap with lower.voltage discharge and big amps then mix it with HV contained within diodes pointing at each othrt....
I don't know just what I saw in gray motor youtube videos.
Ismsel.has a 1000 to 2000v cap discarge into a launcher coil at bottom of tube, with it getting a pulsed high frequency that matchrs up to the hyper.inging frequecncy of that fat "missle" coil that is shorted out at the in and out coil leads. So more advanced than shooting.magnets or shooting copper.coins as example since he takes advantage of the shorted coil's hyper ringing when induced by the HV induction from the " launcher" coil.
More on Gray motor subject, having facing identical bucking coils is so superior to magnet piston because when the fields corkscrew into each other, the coils "turn off" naturally upon maximum NN power and the cancelling of opposite fields, plus the backemf /reoil/flyback is greatly enhanced since it gets shoved backwards with such force by opposite coil.
Also there is great amoumt of flux that shoots out 90 degrees at NN Airgap this can be tapped easily with ferrite thin long cores wrapped with wire, these "splatter" coils arranged in clusters pointed right at the Airgap.
This compressed flux splatter energy free for taking as zero reflection.
Finally with NN coils and cores, upon approach, the cores remain in their pulsed polarity of NN so upon approac, there is a backwards clash of flux shoving rotor coil back which has to push its way past for the next NN firing position.
If you place a magnet facing correct polarity between the stator coils the magnet can and will flip polarity of core, and now upon approach there will be a free NS pull to the rotor coil approaching the stator col for much more power and speed and lower draw plus this works to induce power into rotor coils too ( Lenz free pulsed generator design using bucking coils...)
