When I was in the six hour long thunderstorm inside the boat I noticed the hair on my arms stand out straight as if I were charged with a Van de Graff generator, while all around me lighning was striking the water in a circle about 60 degrees from the top of the main mast. There were no strikes inside that circle, yet, as far as one could see, the water was being constantly hit. The sound of crashes was constant, without interuption.I am not sure what can be learned from these observations.Cheers Warren

John,
The switch closure voltage is from the interference with the earth magnetic flux along a transmission line, same as the "kick" Steven Mark speaks of in the TPU and tube heater elements. Just take some jumper cables and short them at the end and put them out straight then touch a battery and hope they don't get stuck and they will physically move. Of course don't try this with a battery that has a recent charge and still has hydroxy everywhere.

H: I don't agree one thing is the theoretic's
A lot of it is not theoretical.
Spikes do happen on switch closure sometimes, but not reliably, which means that sometimes something is different.
I can feel aetheric energy and i know it can jump gaps larger than those regular voltage can jump.
Tesla did say, or it has been claimed he said (hard to separate the two sometimes) that electricity killed aetheric energy flow. I heard this both before and in Gerry Vassalitos's books... Also, others of his era have said similar things regarding electricity and aether. Also this jives with my own experience.
So what causes spikes to SOMETIMES create huge surge voltages and currents far in excess of what the applied generator can provide?
Obviously there is some difference BEFORE the switch is closed.
H: another is the field application ... Read genesis papers
Funny, I actually had the idea for the negative inductance coil in the Genesis paper about a decade before it was published, I shared it publicly, well, in the old Keelynet chat room.
Might have just been a coincidence. At any rate, Genesis needs a zero inductance coil and a high voltage DC to produce negative inductance, and beyond the initial claim no one has shown it to work.

Read genesis papers , calculate the tensor created by the DC field in the intended location with the conduit characteristics wire length ( wavelength )
mass and conduit impedance & its pair annihilation potential ...
it can be a nightmare , at the time you turn it off it burns the hell of whatever
switch you use because you had created a neutral spike at shutdown not to mention of what will happen to what is connected as a load !
Yes! due to the opposed charges magnetic field collapse .... DC is another world and not too many engineers understand ,. until they burn the hell out of their flawed designs !

Way to test idea...
Take a DC generator with a fair voltage, ideally thousands of volts... Could be a DC generator, probably a rectified AC generator, could maybe be batteries, but not all electrical sources are equal aetherically.
Use multi metals to expand the energy bandwidth as discussed recently, this means use some other metals as conductors also...
Have an open circuit that the HV cannot jump, but which looks like a closed circuit to the aetheric, one way to do this is to twist insulated wires around each other. (aetheric energy passes through twists). Another way is to have a gap in the conduction path the HV cannot pass over, but which the aetheric energy can, can be tested with sensitivity...
Next, make the generator or whatever is powering the circuit run for a long long time, days maybe open circuit... Little energy cost to this as no load.
Then, close the switch, only, don't because you might get killed...
Probably the larger the circuit (even though no current flows through it) the better, a large loop might be best, this will give it a greater interaction with more environmental energy.
I can't help but wonder if the Newman machine is working largely based on this, the collapse of an aetheric current when you make electrical current flow.

Interesting way of looking at it John!

Aetheric energy can jump large gaps without a problem.
Electrical current flow as Tesla claimed can collapse aetheric current flow, that is why he has short impulses...
So in a DC system with an open circuit, the aetheric energy is already flowing, unseen, unrecognized.
Suddenly the current flows and the electrons try and eat up all the energy, but sometimes it is to much and the aetheric energy pulls in too much other energy and this is when you get a large spike!
So, it's not really closing an electrical circuit, rather it is collapsing of an aetheric circuit!
And collapses bring in energy.
If you never fully collapse and never reverse the direction, then the aetheric energy can remain and somewhat as with a Tesla system..

Norm,
I was commenting on the article not your opinion of the technology. That is quite something with the ball lightening, must have been the phase conjugate from the motor reflecting along a transmission line going some distance. I don't understand how the ball of plasma works but would guess it is a balance between the expanding forward time flow and the reverse imploding time flow somehow creates a sphere but how it self sustains for more than microseconds is fascinating and must have something to do with spin and harvesting the ambient. I know the Tesla coils you scrapped Bob Golka was investigating ball lightening but I never heard if anyone got a solid handle on the workings.

Mick!!!! You misinterpret my feeling on this subject!!!! Just because I posted it does not mean that I agree with these idiots! Yes! the cost to retrofit a skyscraper main electrical buss with time delays on branch circuits and other measures to control inrush currents of thousands of amps DC (SURGE) would be cost prohibitive. I had a close friend (RIP) who pulled a huge Frankenstein knife switch on a 100 HP DC air handler motor dating back to the early twenties in a downtown Dallas commercial building. On opening the switch a basketball size Ball Lightning rolled out of the switch and fell to the concrete floor then skittered over to a wall in the basement and exploded. The very same thing that Tesla described in the early days of DC main buss power and the problems with switching!

And when the power in the basement of a DC skyscraper is turned on the current kick along the transmission line may be an issue like in Tesla's days not to mention the AC prevents displacement current charging of building materials that may end up being natural capacitors.
