Sorry to interrupt as I have not processed this excellent post yet but
must interject as ions are different from electrons. A cation or anion
both are charged molecules rather than only the electrons. Even if
they are ejected from a crystal lattice, I think... Just attempting to
digest your meaning accurately.
Ha you fooled me with the clear sky comment into daytime thinking for
the ice. Was really stuck on that. Now if one were to devise a funnel
shape black body system with a really good insulator like aerogel or a
thermos vacuum design on the sides and tall enough to create a natural
vortex from the rising heat one could likely produce serious cooling in
the hot sun. If it was large enough it could make ice.
