Doug showed me the diode bridge across the brushes trick, where you actually harvest the sparks that make the heat at the commutator, which keeps it cool, as can be.
If you, also, have a milling machine, you don't need much advice from me.
You are way over the top from most people in the forum. Although not essentual, milling machines help a lot, sometimes.
With delrine you can use wood working machines such as routers to create shapes

Also I allready got some delron & I can do whatever needs to be done on my milling machine,I allready have a lot (50) of brushes to make the holder for,I nought them for cheap shipping was more!

I machine up my brush holders, but one can also simply buy nice industrial ones pretty cheap, (after I had mine made already)phenolic with the linen cloth in it is good, but so is epoxy and glass fiber.
Hobart or Lincoln motor generator brushes for pipeline work use DC. with brushes. A welder's supply has spares for really big amperage work.

Don't despair. Think of your individual energy problems, and solve those.
By being successful on a small scale, it can show others how it can be done.
Thorium is available in small quantities.
A back yard nuclear generator may not be desireable if your nut case neighbour is building one, considering the mess he made building his garden shed.
Cutting down on simply wasting the energy one consumes, makes the job easier.
The end solution may be very simple, and small.
