He has one coil around each smallest pole piece between two slots. As the output curve shape isn't perfect Pierre is seeking a solution which might be to remove some micro-poles between each macro-pole. This may not actually be the problem and solution. The problem could be how the stepping macro-pole rides across the locked rotor poles. Perhaps the macro-pole should be one micro-pole wider? In motor (generator) rotors the pole pieces are shaped for best performance.
This is the 36 micro-poles forming six macro-poles. The macro-poles are stepping in clockwise direction. Pierre uses 72 relays and all the soils are connected in series.

Stator is drawn as 36 separate center tapped windings and he writes "to prevent pole fields clashing just use 4 windings instead of 6".
But drawing shows 36 coils so he must have rewound the stator so as to leave a empty iron pole between every 6 overlapping consecutive windings.
I think i counted 36 relays so maybe the NC and NO and common connect to CT and split ph to each wind?
36 freewheel diodes, how are they connected?

At present, it is only an off the shelf air toair heat pump. That is way better than any of the other options you have mentioned, as it uses less electricity than resistance heaters by at least 1/3 but can actually do way better than that, if you supercharge the concept, using slightly warmed air involving sunlight, getting heat from the sub soil under the frost, and so on, using your noodle.

The heaters hanging in the ceiling are gas Hogs they send over half the heat out the stack,the heaters that have a burner in one end and then you run a duct all the way around the building then a fan in the exhaust end pulls air through it and all the heat is dispearsed by the time the air gets to end .Propane has more btus than natural gas per ft or therm ever how you measure it .Also a infrared heater is more efficient than a blue flame.I used to have all the charts on this but have been lost in the fray .A friend that has a manufacturing plant did all the leg work on this and shared it with me,We use infrared at the shop.But from what Warren has shared with us his old shop has a really efficient Heat pump.

Maybe you need one of those industrial gas burners with fan that runs off big propane or whatever tank, that you see in auto shops usually be hanging off ceiling....and/or the propane blower heaters they use in construction, to dry out rooms so drywall mud will dry....these will leave thin film of propane over everything sometimes but maybe point it at your stone walls, heat those up....
Electric heated work-overalls are good thing too....
Maybe make an "inner chamber" (igloo) just for you, a heater, and your tools bench and projects
