Thanks DougI guess explorative surgery is in order.I'll check it out, and put everything in order.Now this flashing, I know one needs to do this from time, to time, I have been told, but have never done it myself.Pulling the unit apart, and making all the parts work, I can do that. Then a steady force applied at increasing rpm.For the purposes of this experiment, I can plug into grid power. Tricks will be after, when we get this part functioning.The concept as I understand it,( if it can indeed, be understood,) the flywheel supplies enough over abundance of stored energy to run a generator, which in turn, supplies a motor enough power that it is able to maintain flywheel speed, overcoming numerous sources of loss, and supply a modest surplus.Nomally, I would toss this idea out, but seeing the sincere, ernest people obviously having some kind of success with their creations, and bringing in someone to video the results on their cell phone, simply, as far as I can tell, to altruistically share with humanity.This creature exists, and this is his contribution to the world.Yes, I felt moved, and inspired to give it a try, contrary to my affection for science, and the solid pragmatic basis for doing anything.What about a compressor motor?They have brutal start torque required, although they tend to run slower, and use a lot more power.Recalculating: run the wheel at 1800 rpm? Maybe that generator has sat for long time and its rotor core has demagnetized itself and it needs to be "flashed" with car battery to be remagnetized again?
Maybe the brushes are stuck in their holders and do not slide freely?
Maybe there is circuit or special diodes within the generator, so that it does not make any power at all until it reaches the speed it is designed for, probably 1800rpm.
