I got bitten in the ass once over that one.
You may have seen those metal bals in a line suspended by strings? Knock one and they swing back and forth for a very long time?
I got a panic call one day from a production wanting to put the office toy on a turntable. I had rented them the turntable as they asked for. They were complaining that the toy didn't work when they put it on my turntable, and then started the turntable. All the balls would go into a jumble falling out of synch and stop.
I failed to have a ready magic for them at the moment.
That night, still brooding about it, I read about Focaut and his pendulum, and of course, the earth's rotation, the damn sphere, in space.
Inertia, gravity, and centrifugal force, oh how they come home to roost. We are so naive, yet to watch a labrador catch a ball, and see the calculus of all these factors, you feel truly humble, with our pathetic understanding.

Hi everyone This is a little 2.6 kw 120 240 volt generator that I have just removed the hydraulic drive from, as used in the sail boat, years back.
I am doing a silly little experiment involving a 100 lb flywheel, belt driven by a variety of as yet, un specified motors. I have RVs, and plenty of induction single phase motors, in a range of horsepower, as well as dc motors to 3 hp
There are youtube videos involving flywheels with electric drives self running in south asian countries. Many have put a very good deal of their own resources to their projects they are sharing with us.
I have everything needed so am building what I believe it is.
