I don't know if I understand this correct. Is the current through the inductor reaching zero for some part of the cycle? If so this is discontinuous mode and is required for the SCRs to turn off. This also prevents generating flyback pulses as all the energy of the chokes is use up.

If the impedance of the battery matches the source it probably will work. Else a transformer has to step up or down the tension for a better match.

SCRs don't generate flyback voltages as they don't turn off before the current through them have reached close to zero Amps. MOSFETs can turn off very fast which gives huge flyback voltages that will kill the MOSFETs without a snubber protection or a capacitor or something else to catch the stored inductive energy being released. It's best that the energy goes to the output load which means the output load must match the power level at play. Thus if power at 1kW is dissipated the load must be able to absorb that power at a voltage below what the MOSFET can tolerate.

A switched mode power supply usually has a controller to make the output voltage or current stay within some wanted parameters despite changing the impedance of the load. This can be done by controlling the duty cycle. Some of these supplies won't work without a minimum load at the output.

I tried to connect a 2 transformer in parallel but the impedance is so high despite a short circuited secondary that the thyristors can not turn off.

Then I switched 2 of the transformers on the primary side in parallel, then it just happened. It's pretty hard to work that way, it would be nicer if you can shut down the SCR appropriately, but they are almost indestructible to an IGBT or Mosfet. I also do not think that an IGBT can stand the high current increase unless it is pulsing fast.

What about Hector, is he swallowed up from the ground?
I feel that general topics are being relayed and project related information is not arriving. Somehow I have the feeling there is already method behind it.
