Hi Warren
I think for first experiments torque convertor might be ideal, since it has some sort of turbine inside of it that aids the rotation power...(at least in one direction) those things you could get for free most any shop or junk yard....maybe one from a big truck would be very cool and very powerful.
This design is so simple there are a thousand ways to make it go....
Only thing difficult to me is that water tight rotational fitting - you would know just what to do with that with your marine construction knowledge..
If you read through Patrick Kelleys description and verbal comments he says that power is really huge when bigger and bigger chamber and faster spin to chamber.
Also Clem motor is supposed to make heat too, so perhaps can double as heater a bit too...
Patrick remember announced he is not going to work on his free energy book anymore a couple years ago but looks like he is back and twice as effective teaching and explaining it all now via you tube and with his drawings and his comments.,...look up "perpetual light" on youtube he does some really great stuff on joule thief circuits....
Yes I remember the guy with rubber boots making his water wheel loop spinning a generator and for sure that water pump you have should work great if you get around to building some sort of Clem type motor..
Also in one of the Clem motor youtube videos, someone describes how to make it better by the jets slamming against slanted steel plates close to the jets so there is better torque to the spin, also these could be steel spoons, like what the rubber boots guy used for his paddles....
