Addendum: As for the South Poles? 

Flights from New Zealand to South Africa could fly over Antarctica but no airline currently flies that route. This has nothing to do with fear of navigation errors, (magnetic compasses are notoriously unreliable near the poles). Modern positioning systems rely on satellite assisted navigation. It is simply an economic decision.

  Commercial flights require ETOPS (Extended Range Operations) certification when flying south of latitude 72 degrees. The required certification also mandates that the aircraft carry special survival equipment. ( Its better than using sexinatent) lol Depending on the plane, this necessitates the removal of seats in order to carry the necessary emergency gear and insure it is accessible to the passengers. Those lost seats represent potential lost revenue from paying customers,
 

 The frequent over flights of the North Pole are only possible because suitable diversion airports are available in the event of weather emergencies, destination issues or trouble with the aircraft. A fly over of the South Pole is possible for research and recreation, since military use of the continent is forbidden by joint agreement. Commercial airlines see no profit in a flight over the worlds 5th largest continent...
