 The setting reminds me when I was 10 years of age and had a summer job bringing in the dairy cattle then the morning milking at 5 am.  As well as evenings.
60 head. Can not say I miss it! lol

Hi James,
The race is on to get that roof in place before snowfall.
There is needed a 21 day cure for the arch, before the form is removed, but that won't stop the timber from starting tomorrow, with a double row of pressure treated sienna lodge pole pine 6"×6" getting bolted down to the stone walls all around.
I'm glad to be done with stone for now. The timber goes pretty fast, with chainsaw and steel brackets and timberloc screws. The Dewalt 20 volt screw gun is your friend.

Here's the stone, ground floor of the barn annex, of the old dairy stables, now ready for the post and beam timber upper section, then roof.
It has been a crash course in rubble stone masonry.
All the stone is from the property.
Hopefully there will be room for larger projects.
