lenz intrusion is proportional to the bad quality of laminates and losses , that is why RV is essential in R&D as you can determine with reverse dynamo-meter even the loss caused by the touch of a feather ... and true this little demon can be tested using a modified  cheap shadow  fan motor using a laminate rotor free of shorted turns with 2 side cuff off  to make it a magnetic switch . the shorts in the core "shadow" are eliminated as are not required

not so hard to test the concept discarded microwave ovens are a source of this type of fan  usually have  space in the coil to add the dc exciter coil to it  .

winding values are respective to core specifics and if series or parallel exited  i gave the parallel circuit as is simpler to understand . if inoperative just reverse one coil polarity , the speed of rotation 
of the interrupter has a sweet point  under a given load and voltages generated at which is more efficient .
