Having spent most of my life associated with AVIATION, I encourage you to read this article regarding the advanced flight control systems on today's aircraft. In basic flight training we were taught the old trusted and true method of aircraft control in the most severe conditions that is Needle, Ball and Airspeed. Needle = directional gyro, Ball = turn and bank indicator and airspeed = level flight with the amount of power applied. We were taught that you could survive a total and complete failure of all other systems and instruments if you could fall back to the most fundamentals on your instrument panel. Today's pilots don't have a prayer of a chance of survival along with all their passengers. "A sad state of affairs".
