Samsung motor

DougIt would appear that the Samsung type of three phase motor is able to produce far more than its rated horsepower without extra current consumption running on 400 volts.I have wondered what the toy drones were using, and that might explain it.It is necessary to make a controller circuit but according to Morin, the guy in Quebec, the torque is terrific.Anyway, I have one now to play with.Cheers Warren

Hello Warren ,                            are the magnets in rotor flat or slightly curved  . Looking at pictures online  I see both types .I assume flat  magnet type are of a later generation and cheaper to producee .

JoeThe magnets are the flat ones.Not sure which might be better.I have not had the fat humped versions in my hands.They could be ferite, and as such, not so strong as neos, hence the need for more bulk.I would think that slim might be better as there is less mass to spin, but on both these points, I am only guessing.

Ok Warren thanks  . I came accross the two kinds when looking  online for details of motor and was wondering if one was better or not  for experimenting .
