Golden motor

DougThis is the inside of my Golden motor showing the coils.I think there are 63.63?( I might be going blind)Anyway, I have made a mounting stand, and am screwing a pulley to the housing, to drive it off a permanent magnet DC motor rated around 40 volts. It is likely from an old main frame tape drive of the late 70's. It is a reliable type that I used for wind chargers on sailboats, and all kinds of science fiction movie props.I am driving the Golden motor in a step up ratio of 1:2 , being that the motor pulley is twice the diameter as that on the generator/ alternator.
The search is on, for the reported sweet spot RPM where the generator does not pass the lenz's law drag back to the drive shaft to the motor.This is the Thane theory, the guy from Ottawa.I'm not sure what the top rpm of the motor will be, but the Golden motor will be turning twice the drive motor speed, controlled with a Variac and bridge rectifier, for dc.Cheers WarrenSent from Yahoo Mail on Android

I cant see that photo attachment as is usual for me maybe others can.....how many magnets would be good to know as it is the rotor magnet rotation at a particular rpm that will give you delayed lenz against a single coil or a few in phase coils

Kone, I tried to see the attachment also and had to load it as a picture
into an outside program.  It looks like he has a whole shitload of
magnets in that motor.  What is your formula for number of magnets and
proper RPM for delayed Lenz?

in as an attachmentI hope you can open this.There are a lot of magnetsAt a guess, about 64, with ,I think, 63 coils.Do you know how to calculate the magic speed?I expect it may be obvious, with my over geared motor.Cheers Warren

Who knows try all three phases in patallel or series into a dingle redixtive load, and try each phase into their own resistive losd too, so three outputs to it at once.
