Hi DougI am thinking of re-doing the daisy chain experiment using an RV to drive the permanent magnet motor to produce 35 volts dc, which is what I used in my first test from the 5 amp battery, driving a 125 watt inverter, driving a 5 amp Variac, outputting 35 volts via a full wave bridge rectifier to the first motor.Instead, I want to use an RV motor, driving with vee belt, and pulleys, a permanent magnet dc motor, at a speed to produce 35 volts dc.Starting with that 35 volts dc, we will then see what happens up the chain with each motor progressively as to voltage.After 10 motors , or how many I can throw into the test, I will belt down that last motor to yet another dc motor to drive it, so it only produces 12 volts as a generator.I will then put that 12 volts DC into an ordinary 12volt to 120 ac inverter which via a double pole double throw switch should be able to replace the grid power to the RV while it is still running at speed(By the way, this works great, using the switch)

My drawing is pretty crappy, but it begins to show ideas from the setup. I am still working out the layout of the components, like rectifiers, to ease the wiring up.Cheers Warren

MickHell no! But the roof doesn't leak, and the floor is now 72 F and feels just fine.It seems that I have a million acres of stone to point inside, and out back, but at least the chipmunks are no longer tripping me, in a herd, as I make my way across the floor.The walls as unpointed, and free of mortar as they are, are gradually heating up too, as the system is now on the second week. I now get 45 F off the walls with the point and shoot laser.My equipment, and motors etc are in storage in the small barn which though dry, with a good roof, is unheated.This week, it has been -21 C and the way to that barn is blocked with large snow drifts.I just repaired a $30  8 hp electric start, self propelled snow blower, on the theory that if you have an operational snow blower, you will never see a winter with snow.This one sat for decades unused except as a shin banger, until the belts rotted, and the tires went flat.Its best feature: you plug it into 120 ac, push the starter, and it starts instantly. No battery!However, nothing happens easy around here, in winter. I also stored the motors up in the second floor loft. It was warm, and dry, last summer. It is still dry, but certainly not warm!You guys in the tropics sure have the life! Kick the rattler out of the way, and away you go!Cheers Warren
