Almost done!

GuysI know that this is slightly off topic, but this 170 year old post and beam structure has been a work in progress since spring time. This is the last opportunity to see the framing, before the last boards go on, closing in the east end.Neighbours looked at it when I started, and said " my old barn like that, I just hooked a chain to the corner, and pulled it down"Having an enclosed space, dry, and out of the wind, offers all kinds of potential for creative projects, that just sit on the back burner, in the claustrophobic urban situation, for lack of work space.Winter, in this part of Ontario, is serious, causing a lot of sitting around a source of heat, confined by freezing fingers, and nearly tar like lubricants, in the machinery.The heat pump in the stone barn, has not been fired up, awaiting the final hook up to the house, and the grid.....house....code....insurance...and of course the bull shit.Getting away from the grid, is key.The fewer tentacles that the control companies have for monitoring, and ensuring you use their products, or their associative companie's products, the less control can be exerted.My wood comes from local wood lots, that a family owned saw mill cuts into timber, and boards, from logs, that local people supply.I got the town welding shop to shear, and bend, my angle brackets, because they inherited some very heavy machinery, for cutting, and bending plate, when industry left town, with ship building.I was able to drill the screw holes on my drill press. 20 volt Dewalt screw guns did the work, putting it up.Cheers Warren
