Norm, I think I may have found a good instrument in order to register the spike. Yesterday I first opened up the package and used the probe so please excuse the lack of data gathered. Utilizing one of those high voltage meter probes which I think contains a high value resistive voltage divider. Due to the very high impedance this probe shows voltage when pointed at a metal framed table vs away from it. So is seemingly an indicator or RF or ionization. Have not had the unit long enough to make distinction. After hooking to a ground rod and dumping about 3kv into a separate ground rod about 30 feet away and monitoring with a recording voltmeter. When a rectifier is positioned with the negative pointed into the earth the probe will show a continuous negative voltage reading then after 10-15 seconds a positive burst which looks like the column cut out below with the 149v positive. As mentioned before I surmise that the neutral spike and return stroke of lightening are related if not the same event. As Tesla proved extremely quick HV risetime DC pulses radiate like RF It would seem the earth is acting as a cap and requires more voltage or current to return the same energy spike more rapidly. With the rectifying diode positioned to send positive into the earth there is a small negative spike but much lower in pressure as can be seen in the second column as negative 61 volts. Based on a leveraged gain with high voltage later stepped down this could explain the working of the Don Smith device. Many more experiments required including different formats of collapsing inductive fields. multiply *1000 -0.0046, -0.0055, -0.0057, -0.0042, -0.0044, -0.0044, -0.0062, -0.0050, -0.0048, -0.0036, -0.0032, 0.1490, -0.0056, -0.0062, -0.0058, -0.0058, -0.0058, -0.0058, -0.0054, -0.0032, 0.0116 0.0099 0.0071 0.0089 0.0115 0.0100 0.0135 0.0085 0.0060 0.0108 -0.0611 0.0109 0.0118 0.0112 0.0087 0.0097 0.0104
