Norman
I bought my first Prius in 2003 I drove it many years with it averaging over 50 miles per gal it now has over 150,000 miles on it and is still averaging 49 mpg I guess I could pull all hubs and bearings clean and relube get it back up to where it was. When I bought this car they said that by the year 2010 they would be getting 100 miles per gal that never happened,I have fixed several gen 2 cars and all of them gets about the same milage,I paid 19,500.00 for the first one I was driving a 1999 Ford Thunderbird and I figured my millage on it and with my fuel savings this Prius would pay for itself at 100,000 miles plus the dealership did all the service on it for free to 50,000 so I also saved on oil and filters I don't see any better millage in the later versions I just worked on one that was a 2013 out of carolina the toyota dealer was trying to rape them on price of part that only has to be cleaned .I drove my 03 to Kentucky 2 times over in NC and back filled up costed 16.70 with fuel at 2.40 per gal.I have not had to replace any cells in my 03 battery but have had to change a lot of them in the 04 and later I just wonder if the change in the inverters have an impact on them
Steve

Ole! scroll down to the specs of the 2010 Prius and see a max 650VDC of the series/parallel strapped main battery pack. Fire departments all over the world take precautions when encountering a Hybrid Vehicle accident with resulting fire due to HVDC potentials present!
