Kone, Did you have a look at the coreless generators from China? Do you think these would be easy to turn to Konehead motors? https://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&fsb=y&SearchText=coreless+generator

Hi Mick Aircores work great against very strong neodymium magnet rotors. Lots better than any sort of iron cores will, as latch is just too strong unless huge Airgap now you lose all the power gained by the strong magnets. Shorting at sinewave peaks particularly good thingb to do with aircores since the coils will and can ring hyper fast with no cores to dampen or cancel the hoer inging... Anyways last couple days I wound about 20 aircores to use with my latest dual offset 16 magnet rotors my plan is to spin these at aroundb1800 rpm on12v and 50 tp 100ma. And short the generator coils into caps then run the motor coils on those caps and have some power leftover too.. I saw the link to the coreless generators, these good for low wind speeds...i think I can make better stuff in.my workshop here in Minsk prototypes at least.. Kone

Warren, I though one of those coreless generators would be simple to Koneheadize. The only issue would be whether the coils are far enough apart for the designs Doug has found to be best once one adds in the requisite hall switches and such. I like Hectors concept of modding off the shelf devices into useful tools. Hector, Out of the box they may be shitsuckers but since they have the perm mags and the coreless coils what is wrong with using for Konehead impulse generator/motor? MickMaking a Kone motor is very easy, it just looks complicated.Once you consider each component, you are winding magnet wire off one spool and on to another little spool.Your granny could likely do that while making dinner, and keeping the moose out of the garden. The little empty spools are a pain in the butt to find. I made mine out of white plastic water pipe and thin Lexon sheet of about .060" thick, using a hole saw on my drill press.Start with the outside diameter of your spool, cutting out the discs, each having the 1/4" pilot hole in the center. Take each out after you cut them. Don't forget to use a scrap of plywood on the drill press table for cutting with the hole saw, (making sure you center the table, so the pilot drill goes through the center hole and not the table) Once you have the required number of discs for spool ends, (plus a few for fudge factor) take a smaller hole saw and drill the center to be a nice tight fit to your pipe on your using the pilot drill hole in each washer disc you have made.I use dollar store crazy glue that gives you four little tubes in a plastic bottle, when not using my solvent cement for plastics. You can also use plumbers ABS to PVC transition glue, or epoxy. The Epoxy works best when you have made a sloppy fit of things.Glue up the spools on wax paper.Cheers Warren Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Thu, 9 Aug 2018 at 11:13 AM, Mick [email protected] [EVGRAY]<[email protected]> wrote: Kone, Did you have a look at the coreless generators from China? MickHector has a good point, using off the shelf motors. The RV is terrific, and in retrospect, easy to make work( Myself, I had a bitch of a time the first go round, and without hand holding from Doug and all wouldn't have got so lucky)Cheers Warren Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android On Sun, 12 Aug 2018 at 12:53 PM, Mick [email protected] [EVGRAY]<[email protected]> wrote: Warren, I though one of those coreless generators would be simple to Koneheadize.
