Hi Warren, it's all about protecting the mosfets when switching the switch when the pushpull transformer goes into saturation for a reason, the impedance of the transformer is so small that the current across the dc link can go up and destroy the mosfets. I would like to prevent this via a choke which does not saturate so quickly by a powder core and so maintains a minimum impedance. Greetings Sven

Is it possible at this point to consume the current, regardless of waveform, on a tesistance load, such as Chromalux elements as in a hot water heater?

maybe it is important to put an extra choke on the Pushpull Center tap. I could imagine that at that time I brought the transformer into saturation and the resistance became very small and thus for a short time very high currents were flowing which the IGBTs could not survive.
