Hector,
 

 Per your reccomendations, in order to run a gen as a synchronus motor which windings are driven primarily, the rotor or stator?
 

 What is the best way to accomplish this with 3phase AC or BLDC controller?

Hi Micik 
If andard gas motor genset,with motor ripped out, then you energize both rotor and stator winds for NN bucking power as in gray motor or do NS attractive or combination of NN and NS if rotor is NS 
Possible to short out stator and inject HV pulse to rotor winds too as in Ismael Aviso car motor...
